Mutants Behind the Masks

They'll be reshowing the four eps that feature each fo the turtles personally.

Today, it was Donatello. Next weekend, it will be Leo, and after that Raph. Which leaves Mike for last. Hrmm... to bad that they didn't make a Christmas ep for Mike, instead of the Unconvincing Turtle Titan, cause then if they had Mike third and Raph last that would have be a cool Christmas special! Oh well...

Add your thoughts of the show below!

Actually it's only for 2 weeks and the 8:30 show was Mikey. Anyway, for those of you who wanted to know, they did show the alternate ending of The King today. Although I thought it was more like an extended ending cause it had the same basic ending it was just a tad longer. Unforunately, I did not get it on tape.

I saw the extended ending, and I was like "Whoa! Cool!" And this time Raph had pupils in his eyes too.

The new ending was pretty good. You actually got to see the turtle's pupils for once, instead of like before when you had to get up close to the screen. The look that Don gave Raph was pure sadness. All in all, loved the ending better than the original.

I caught the new ending, too. Boy am I glad I decided to tape it again. I already had it taped, but decided to, what the heck, tape it again. I liked the new ending. I haven't seen the older one in forever, but this new one was really good.

dang, I missed it....

so, what kind of stuff did they do about Don? Do they do like a character profile, and such? or do they just show the same few flashbacks from Tales of Leo, etc...

A sad Don face? Someone's gotta post it...

Nah.. they just showed "The King" for him. Nothing else inbetween during the comericals.

The only thing extra was the extended ending, as it was in the comic.

Why was the other topic regarding "The King" locked? I was gonna say something. Oh, well, I'll say it here. Yeah, I saw it, too, but didn't tape it. I didn't think I had to because I already taped it. Does this mean we should be ready for anything in future repeats?

When I saw Don coming up the stairs with two minutes to spare on the clock, I was like, "Heeeey, this is new!" Talk about leaving every fan in the dark with this! It's gotta be on the DVD version, or I'd be very surprised if it isn't. Silver Turtle and Jo, you both thought Don looked sad? Yeah, me too. A cross between sad and annoyed when all that Raph cared about was getting his hot water. Too upset to comment to him, just like in the comic! Awww, let's go hug him! He needed one desperately!

I think if they aired it once then they plan on using that tape for all future showings of that episode. I guess we'll have to wait until the Fox Box reruns it again to know for sure.

What I'm curious about is if it will be the master tape 4kids sends to Cartoon Network to air? I guess we wont know until at least March.

Another thought came to mind... Will the original ending still be on the DVD? I can't remember if they said it would be. I guess there isn't a point because the new one is much better, but that ending shouldn't be "lost" either. It was the original. Maybe there will be an option to play the episode with either endings on the DVD (which you choose before hand).

It was odd that they showed it. Peter Laird has said it would only be available on the DVD. And the version that airs on TV, would only be the original version. As for the DVD, Laird also said that the original ending would be included as a deleted scene on the DVD. But again, I guess we can't go by Laird for everything. We'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, I looked at the clock, too. And, yes, they did catch everyone off guard with the whole different ending. As far as I know, nobody knew about it. That's pretty cool, though, that they did that.

I believe it will be included as a DVD extra.

I am so pissed at myself for walking off during "The King". I mean, it was a repeat, it wasn't like I was missing anything. And they said it was only gonna be on the DVD! *smacks herself in the forehead* Curse my luck.

Extra? Noooo, why not put it into the episode itself! That's dumb to show the whole cartoon minus the deleted scene and then have it as an extra! That's like with "Rocky Horror Picture Show" on the 25th Anniversary special. They put the song, "Super Heroes" as an extra instead of into the movie itself. There is a copy of the movie going around of the song playing as it should without being cut. They would show it quite a bit on Halloween.

Ummm....that was just an example, but getting back to the topic, I think since "The King" will be on DVD, the extra scene should be in the usual viewing, not as an extra. Just like how some of us saw it this morning. Full and uncut. Yeah? Yeah. Phew, k, enough of that.
