An attempt at a thorough reference list to the Old Toon

Hello all, Jester here. Like I said when the TMNT wiki was first introduced I want to go all out and make a guide to Pizza references, pop culture points, and mistakes from the OT. here's what I have so far...and this is only the first 2 epiosdes.

Jester's Reference Guide to the TMNT

TMNT Episode Guide

Episode 1: Turtle Tracks
Written by: David Wise and Patti Howeth

Cast:
• James Avery: Shredder
• Townsend Coleman: Michaelangelo, Foot Critic 1 (“Impudent dog, bow before our beloved master!”), Fake Teeth/Goofy Noses Vender,
• Cam Clark: Leonardo, Rocksteady, Sound Technician
• Pat Fraley: Vernon Fenwick, Burne Thompson, Card Shark
• Barry Gordon: Donatello, Bebop, Foot Critic 2? (“For this misdeed you should be banished from the Foot Clan…”),
• Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil,
• Tress MacNeille: Gun Toting Granny, Manhattan Security Services Receptionist
• Rob Paulsen: Raphael, ACME Guy (“I have absolutely no idea.”), Camera Man, Ninja Server,
• Peter Renaday: Splinter, Professor (“It’s made in Japan.”), Master Teacher (“I say throw the bum out!”), Ninja Behind the Counter,

Mistakes:
1. When April attempts to leave the Lair, she is stopped by Donatello, who speaks with Raphael’s voice.
2. Occasionally the top of the Turtles plastrons are green when seen in the opening at the top of their trench coats.
3. While the Turtles slide down the rope bridge to the neighboring roof, Donatello’s wrist bands are his skin tone, not purple.
4. After the Turtles slide down the rope and onto the neighboring rooftop, there are 2 Leonardos and 2 Raphaels. There is no sign of Michaelangelo.
5. Though one of Leonardo’s swords is still on the roof, it appears and reappears in its scabbard throughout the rest of the episode.
6. Despite Michaelangelo being seen caring only one set of nunchucks, in battle he uses two pairs. This happens off and on throughout the first season.

Pizza References:
1. Strange toppings introduced. (Pepperoni and ice cream, jelly beans and mushrooms, anchovies and peanut butter, sashimi, whipped cream, and bananas and sausage specifically)
2. Michaelangelo calls himself, “Master of the whirling pizzas.”
3. The Ninja Pizza Pizzeria
4. The Turtles take nothing seriously, aside from pizza.

Catchphrase Countdown:
1. Shredder: “What the Devil!”
2. Michaelangelo: “Pizza Time!”
3. Shredder calls the punks “idiots” and “Cretans”.
4. Raphael: “Out of your shell”
5. Michaelangelo: “Cowabunga!”

Pop Culture References:
1. Raphael: “Try again Mr. Wizard!”
(A reference to the 80’s educational TV series, Mr. Wizard)
2. Raphael: “Here’s lookin’ at you kid!”
(A parody of Humphrey Bogart from Casablanca)

Fourth Wall Breaking Humor:
1. Donatello: “I love saying lines like that!”

Wacky Inventions:
1. Mutagen

Notables:
1. Krang doesn’t appear in this episode.
2. Pat Fraley voices Vernon Fenwick for the five episode pilot. In the sixth episode, Return of the Shredder (the first episode of season one), Peter Renaday takes over Vernon’s voice.

Episode 2: Enter the Shredder
Written by: David Wise and Patti Howeth

Cast:
@ James Avery: Shredder,
@ Townsend Coleman: Michaelangelo,
@ Cam Clark: Leonardo, Rocksteady,
@ Pat Fraley: Krang, Burne Thompson, Vernon Fenwick
@ Barry Gordon: Donatello, Bebop,
@ Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil,
@ Rob Paulsen: Raphael,
@ Peter Renaday: Splinter
@ The Robot Rovers sound to be voiced by multiple cast members.

Mistakes:
1. Leonardo speaking in Raphael’s voice: “I gotta feelin’ we’re in Kansas anymore, Uncle Toto.”
2. As Shredder says, “Indeed he is.” In response to Donatello’s mussing that Splinter’s in trouble, Michaelangelo’s bandana changes colors from orange to purple.
3. When Raphael says, “Take your time why don’t ya!” as Donatello causes the moving walls to retract, his bandana goes from red to orange.
4. Michaelangelo shrieks a warning to Raphael, in what sounds like Raphael’s own voice.
5. When Raphael’s voice says “More bad news,” Leonardo’s head moves suggesting he’s saying the line.
6. When Michaelangelo says, “Jump for it!” his bandana is red, and changes as the Turtles jump.
7. When Bebop and Rocksteady bust through the pavement to face the Turtles, Bebop’s shirt is yellow instead of red.
8. Leonardo, in the fight with Bebop and Rocksteady, jumps in the air with his sword ready to cut Bebop’s gun. When he comes back in to shot, he’s wearing red and slices the gun. Raphael, in his trademark red, kicks Bebop in the chest, knocking him to the ground. Then Raphael somehow is able to jam his sai into Rocksteady’s gun as Bebop continues to fall off screen.
9. As Rocksteady tries to uses his teeth to get out of the zoo cage, his nose is seen behind the bar he’s “chewing”.
10. Raphael’s “R” is clearly visible as the Turtles talk to April, but Michaelangelo’s “M” is missing.

Pizza References:
1. Pizza for breakfast (topped with Corn Flakes, Raisin Bran, and Choco-Puffs)
2. Michaelangelo: “Now that’s what I call a serious pizza!”

Catchphrase Counter:
1. Shredder: “That’s quite a brain you’ve got, Krang.”
Krang: “Of course it is, it’s all I’ve got.”
2. Raphael: “I hate it when he says that!” (and later “I really wish you’d stop saying things like that.”)
3. “Turtles fight with honor!”
4. Shredder: “Bebop, Rocksteady Destroy them!”
5. Shredder: “You idiots!”
6. Rocksteady: “Say your prayers, Toitles.”

Pop Culture References:
1. Michaelangelo: “That dude’s drivin’ Shay Stadium around under the city!”
(A reference to the baseball stadium in NYC, home of the New York Mets.)
2. Leonardo/Raphael: “I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore, Uncle Toto.”
(A obvious reference to the Wizard of Oz)

Wacky Inventions:
1. The Shredder’s Robots
2. The Technodrome

Any helps or corrections welcome.

Nice job! I like the extensive voice casts and all the details about the episodes. The only suggestion I have is to maybe note the source of each of the pop culture references as you did for the second one for the first episode. Keep up the great work!

Other than some grammatical junk, it's really good. But, you need to put the extra A in Michaelangelo's name. That's important Ninja Turtles history.

In the cast list:
"Tress MacNeille: Gun Totting Granny, Manhattan Security Services Receptionist"

That would be Gun Toting Nanny. Just a typo that jumped out.

Gobo, I wasn't sure if I should keep the "a"...I guess i will.

Episode 3: A Thing About Rats

@ Pat Fraley: Krang, Burne Thompson, Baxter Stockman
@ Barry Gordon: Donatello,
@ Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil,
@ Rob Paulsen: Raphael,
@ Peter Renaday: Splinter, Ajax’s Pest Control Owner

Mistakes:
1. Raphael’s belt tie is missing in the opening scene.
2. Baxter’s neck goes from flesh tone to white while he’s pitching his Mousers.
3. Splinter’s nose blinks brown while he’s facing the Mousers.
4. Leonardo’s mouth never moves when he says, “Hang on, Master Splinter.”
5. As Donatello reads “Trademark: Baxter Stockman Inventions,” Michaelangelo’s arm is seen holding the Mouser foot. When we see Donatello he is looking at a Mouser head.
6. Shredder’s neck is purple rather than flesh-tone for most of the episode.
7. Donatello says “So, if there are hundreds of them now, but his bandana is orange.
8. As the Turtles, April and Splinter run for the ropes, 2 Mousers block the window. Michaelangelo kicks one, the other just vanishes.
9. Using stock footage from earlier in the episode at the end several errors occur. April is seen driving in the shot before, but in the reused footage Michaelangelo is driving. Also where Donatello talking in the clip the first time makes sense, here Raphael’s voice is heard saying the lines about Michaelangelo eating too much pizza, and Donatello’s mouth moves.

Pizza References:
1. Michaelangelo attempts to make instant pizza when the Turtles ransack April’s apartment.
2. Raphael: “Michaelangelo, I do believe you’ve finally had one pizza too many.”

Catchphrase Counter:
1. Shredder: “Seek out Hamato Yoshi, and DESTROY HIM!” (and later “Now my children, seek out Hamato Yoshi, the four Turtle, and that news-woman April O’Neil. Destroy them all!!)
2. Shredder calls Michaelangelo an “impudent idiot!”

Forth Wall Breaking Humor:
1. Raphael: “They aren’t paying me enough to take this kind of abuse.”

@ Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil,
@ Tress MacNeille: Kala
@ Rob Paulsen: Raphael, Clown 2?
@ Thom Pinto: Dask,
@ Peter Renaday: Splinter, General Traag

Mistakes:
1. When Shredder calls Bebop and Rocksteady losers, Bebop’s glasses are black.
2. When Shredder mentions that the Neutrinos have escaped, Bebop’s glasses and Mohawk are brown.
3. Graninator speaks with Traag’s voice
4. Traag and Graninator shot at the Turtles as they jump at them, but all you see are stills of the jumping Turtles and Traag and Graninartor.
5. In one cut of Raphael in the gunner’s seat, the seat belts are green.
6. When Leonardo is fighting Bebop and Rocksteady in the Technodrome, he is grabbed by Rocksteady’s grey hand, when we pull away we see Bebop holding Leonardo. The voice that says “Gotcha Shell-brain!” is also Rocksteady’s.
7. Michaelangelo breaks a pair of his nunchucks on Traag, but later when he’s holding both pair they are undamaged.

4. Raphael: “Some dirty rat must have squealed to the coppers about us, meh.”
(A James Cagney reference.)
5. April reads the Turtles their favorite fable, the Tortoise and the Hare.

Wacky Inventions:
1. Turtle Van
2. Stone Warrior Weather Maker

Notables:
1. The Twin Towers are mentioned in this episode.
2. All we know of Krang’s origin is summed up in this episode.
3. Michaelangelo’s relationship with Kala begins to develop.
4. Turtle Com sound effects heard as Star Mobile effects.

Episode 5: Shredder and Splintered (VHS Title: The Shredder is Splintered)
Written by: David Wise and Patti Howeth

Cast:
@ James Avery: Shredder,

Mistakes:
1. Shredder’s neck is again purple for most of the episode.
2. When Michaelangelo asks what fuel the Star Mobile needs, his wrist bands are green not orange.
3. When Michaelangelo “trashes” Bebop and Rocksteady, Leonardo is seen in all red gear.
4. The buttons and switches in Krang’s android body begin to disappear and reappear.
5. When the Turtles and Splinter are hanging from the rope after the commercial break, Raphael is colored purple.
6. Raphael closes his hand around his Turtle Com to punch a Foot Soldier, but when he opens his hands it’s gone.
7. At one point when Splinter faces Shredder, his nose is brown.
8. When the Turtles view Krang in his body through the Technodrome’s monitors, Raphael’s belt tie is missing and doesn’t reappear until the Turtles turn to stop Krang from opening the portal.
9. As Raphael talks about shrinking Krang down, he and Donatello switch bandana colors and back again.
10. At one point where Krang takes a swipe at the glider, his body’s nose is the same color as his visor.
11. When Michaelangelo says, “Let’s eradicate this creep, man” Raphael’s elbow pad is missing.
12. The Bat mutant that was used to demonstrate the Retro-Mutagen Ray is seen in a cage in the Technodrome when Krang calls for Traag.
13. When Raphael says, “Not so fast chrome breathe!” his mouth doesn’t move.

Michaelangelo: “Wasn’t that the name of a movie?”
(A reference to the second Star Trek movie, The Wrath of Kahn.)
3. Raphael: “I second that emotion.”
(This is the name of a song by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles)

Wacky Inventions:
1. Turtle com
2. Turtle Blimp
3. Krang’s Body
4. The Electro-cage Generator
5. Retro-mutagen Ray

Episode 6: Return of the Shredder
Story by: David Wise and Patti Howeth
Written by: Christy Marks

Cast:
@ James Avery: Shredder
@ Townsend Coleman: Michaelangelo, Punk 2
@ Cam Clark: Leonardo, Rocksteady
@ Peter Cullen: Punk 1, Smash, “Napoleon”
@ Jennifer Darling: Irma, Tiffany
@ Pat Fraley: Krang, Burne Thompson, Baxter Stockman
@ Barry Gordon: Donatello, Bebop, Robber 1
@ Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil, Grocery Store Clerk
@ Rob Paulsen: Raphael, Robber 2
@ Peter Renaday: Splinter, Vernon Fenwick

Mistakes:
1. While recapping the pilot, Raphael speak in Leonardo’s voice when explaining the ooze left Yoshi trapped in the form of a rat.
2. Splinter’s nose blinks brown when he calls the Turtles to him upon his premonition that the Shredder will return.
3. When Donatello questions Shredder’s return, his teeth are red.
4. This episode features one of many occurrences where April’s Turtle com is inconsistent.
5. When Michaelangelo says “Yeah, like, what’s the haps?” his mouth doesn’t move.
6. When the Turtles turn to the TV to watch the tape of the Crooked Ninja Turtle Gang, Raphael’s gear turns blue.
7. When Shredder explains his plot to Splinter and points his sword at him, Splinter’s kimono overlap closure is missing.
8. As Splinter tells Saki that the Turtles will defeat him, the upper part of his leggings are brown.
9. When Shredder is explaining his defeat to Krang, the antenna on the top of Krang’s body is missing.
10. Rocksteady’s stomach is yellow in the same scene.

Pizza References:
1. The premise for Michaelangelo and Leonardo’s shopping trip is for toppings for pizza.
2. As the Turtles re-cap the previous 5-part pilot, they are munching on pizza.

Pop Culture References:
1. Perhaps as a nod to the original Mirage comic books, all the Crooked Ninja Turtle Gang members wear red gear.
2. Baxter’s cell mate is an obvious clichéd joke about insane people thinking they’re Napoleon Bonaparte.
3. Michaelangelo sings a parody of “I’ve Been Workin’ on the Railroad”: “I’ve Been Workin’ on the Oil Drums”

Wacky Inventions:
1. Shredder’s Communicator
2. Baxter’s Ultimate Rat Catcher

Forth Wall Breaking Humor:
1. At the end where April tells the Turtles she “was winking at Splinter,” April breaks the forth wall within the show. Splinter’s line to follow and his wink also breaks the forth wall, only this time to the audience.

Some of the voice cast stuff is a bit hard, trying to put voices with characters, so I'm not sure I'm 100% accurate. If you have reason to believe so, please feel free to send a correction.

Eye of Sarnath Arc: Should the Klunk reference stay or be Pop Culture?

Episode 7: The Incredible Shrinking Turtles
Written By: Larry Par

Cast:
@James Avery: Shredder, Rescue Worker
@Townsend Coleman: Michaelangelo
@Cam Clark: Leonardo, The Sarnath Alien
@Pat Fraley: Krang, Burne Thompson, Baxter Stockman, News Reporter
@Barry Gordon: Donatello
@Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil
@Rob Paulsen: Raphael
@Peter Renaday: Splinter

Mistakes:
1. When Leonardo holds his nose to jump into the garbage, his teeth are red
2. When the Turtles are hiding behind a trash can, on their way home, the top of Leonardo’s head is blue and the place where his bandana is supposed to be is green.
3. Donatello says “There’s gotta be an easier way to get home than this,” but he’s colored blue.
4. Again in this episode, Michaelangelo goes from carrying one pair of nunchucks to two and back again.
5. While in the jar, the Turtles weapons disappear and reappear.

Pizza References:
1. Michaelangelo’s Shredder disguise is made of old pizza tray
2. Michaelangelo: See if that gizmo has a setting for food, bud. I could use a pizza break.
Raphael: Will you cool it with the pizzas, we’re after something big!
Michaelangelo: Well, alright then. Just make it a family size pizza!
3. Four mini Turtles and one huge slice of pizza, enough for everybody. Maybe.
4. When the tiny Turtles are attacked by the fish, Michaelangelo swears of anchovy pizzas. Raphael, ever the optimist, says Michaelangelo may never eat another pizza ever.
5. The Turtles receive tiny pizzas at the end of this episode, an example of Splinter making a funny.

Pop Culture References:
1. The title of this episode is a reference to the films The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957) and the Incredible Shrinking Woman (1981).
2. Raphael references Custer’s Last Stand when Leonardo calls for the Turtles to stand their ground.

Wacky Inventions:
1. Alien Crystal Detector (Sarnathometer) Mark 1
2. Heat Seeking Turtle Scope

Notables:
1. The first episode of the “Eye of Sarnath” 4-parter.
2. The first use of the “girlish grunt” is in this episode, when the Turtles face Shredder.
3. Bebop and Rocksteady do not appear in this episode.

Episode 8: It Came from Beneath the Sewers
Written by: Larry Parr

Cast:
@James Avery: Shredder
@Townsend Coleman: Michaelangelo
@Cam Clark: Leonardo
@Jennifer Darling: Irma, Mom?, Boy 2
@Pat Fraley: Krang, Baxter Stockman, Carnival Owner
@Barry Gordon: Donatello,
@Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil, Daughter?, Boy 1
@Rob Paulsen: Raphael
@Peter Renaday: Splinter, Reporter

Mistakes:
1. When the Turtles and April are riding in the van to find the fragment, the wrist band on the hand Donatello holds the Crystal Detector comes and goes.
2. Leonardo’s wrist and elbow pads are missing while he ‘s driving right before the Turtles and April go into the carnival.
3. When the Turtles pass the kids with the fragment, their teeth are colored red.
4. When Michaelangelo pulls out the mini ladder while the Turtles are clowning, his wrist band is missing.
5. Before Shredder jumps the kids with the fragment, their skin tones are switched.
6. Shredder, earlier in the episode, says Baxter threw out the fragment from the previous episode and asks Krang to help him find it, leading to the kids who found it. When Shredder and Baxter return to their hideout, Shredder test the crystal to see what its special power is, but in the previous episode we learned it causes things to shrink (and possibly the exact opposite, grow like in the case of the plant in this episode). Wouldn’t Shredder have already known this and not need to test the fragment?
7. When Shredder uses April’s Turtle Com to contact the Turtles, it’s not the compact style, but the same style as the Turtles carry.
8. While on the Turtle Com with Shredder Donatello’s teeth are red.
9. While Raphael is shooting the alien plant from the Turtle Van, Donatello turns down an alley, and Raphael’s gear turns orange.
10. When the alien plant, grabs a trash can to dump on Leonardo, a pair of feet are seen coming out of the bottom before Leonardo is hit with the can.
11. As Flora, Michaelangelo’s belt ties disappear and reappear.
12. While fighting the alien plant Donatello is seen floating in midair, thanks to reused stock footage.

Pizza References:
1. When the Turtles arrive at the carnival, Michaelangelo hopes the fragment is found near a pizza stand since he’s “so hungry [he’s] hollow”.
2. While debating a plan to rescue April, Michaelangelo mentions a pizza break to help him think, which lead to the Turtles deciding to come to April’s aid dressed as pizza delivery boys.
3. At the end of the episode the Turtles scarf a pizza made with “everything except green veggies.”

Pop Culture References:
1. When Shredder tells the boys with the fragment he’s from “Dimension X, in a far off galaxy.” They respond that they aren’t scared since they’ve seen every episode of Star Trek.

Notables:
1. Krang recalls Shredder to the Technodrome to examine the crystal fragment at the beginning of this episode.
2. Bebop and Rocksteady do not appear in this episode.

Episode 9: The Mean Machines
Written by Michael Reaves

Cast:
@James Avery: Shredder, Robber 1
@Townsend Coleman: Michaelangelo
@Cam Clark: Leonardo, Cabbie
@Pat Fraley: Krang, Burne Thompson, Baxter Stockman, Robber 2
@Barry Gordon: Donatello,
@Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil,
@Rob Paulsen: Raphael
@Peter Renaday: Splinter, Vernon Fenwick, O.M.N.U.S, Reporter

Mistakes:
1. Despite being on screen for about 2 seconds, the bank robbers the Turtles thwart change voices.
2. When Shredder grabs the cabbie out of his car, you can see his purple (as opposed to grey) chest. The robe also makes it look as if his mask and helmet are one piece in several shots.
3. Shredder’s communicator is grey (as opposed to purple).
4. Leonardo says, “The machines, they’ve got us surrounded,” but his mouth doesn’t move.
5. Leonardo says, “Did you have to use the ‘D’ word?” in Raphael’s voice.
6. Shredder’s communicator is a hand held earlier, and later is a compact similar to April’s Turtle Com.
7. Before the TNT explodes the Turtles dive behind a barricade, but Michaelangelo and Raphael’s colors are flipped.
8. As Leonardo and Donatello discuss if the Sarnathometer can find the fragment, Leonardo’s belt ties are missing.
9. Donatello is driving the van. April is to his right, then Raphael, and Michelangelo. Leonardo is in the back. We pull in close to Donatello. When we pull out, Michaelangelo is missing entirely. Upon returning from the commercial, all 5 are seated in front, with Leonardo between Michaelangelo and Raphael.
10. Leonardo’s voice comes out of Raphael’s mouth when he says, “Shredder got control of it.”
11. While the Turtles march on foot to Shredder’s hideout, Michaelangelo is holding what looks like one nunchuck handle in his hands.
12. Shredder plans to open a portal with out the help of Krang, yet he contacts Krang to gloat over how soon the portal will be operational.
13. While Michaelangelo’s taking out the Shredder’s video feed, his bandana goes green and his head goes orange and back again.
14. Three Turtles are seen putting on suction cups to scale the building, 2 colored red and Donatello. One of the red turtles talks with Donatello’s voice and his bandana turns green.
15. As the Turtles start to scale the building, Michaelangelo’s shell blinks green.
16. When Leonardo says, “That’s it April, you’d better take cover,” his mouth doesn’t move.
17. Leonardo is shown to April’s right, seconds later it’s Raphael, then it’s Leonardo again, then Raphael.
18. Michaelangelo is shown eating pizza, but he’s playing with a toy robot.
19. When Raphael says, “Oh, another robot!” he’s colored purple.
20. Thanks to stock footage, Leonardo’s mouth doesn’t move when he says, “Get ready!” In fact, you can hear the sound effect for when he draws his katanas but you never see the action, just the Turtles, April and Splinter munching on pizza.

Pizza References:
1. The Turtles, April, and even Splinter sit down to a celebratory pizza.

Pop Culture References:
1. One piece of the Turtles disguise in this episode is a set of Groucho Marx glasses.
2. An Astro-Boy parody is show on the Turtles TV in the lair.3.

Wacky Inventions:
1. Alien Crystal Detector (Sarnathometer) Mark 2
2. O.M.N.U.S (Omnipotent Multi-processing Nexus of Universal Sentience)

Notables:
1. Bebop and Rocksteady do not appear in this episode.

Episode 10: The Curse of the Evil Eye
Written by: Martin Pasko

Cast:
@James Avery: Shredder, Dock Worker 1
@Townsend Coleman: Michaelangelo, Mr. Blodget
@Cam Clark: Leonardo
@Pat Fraley: Krang, Baxter Stockman, Dock Worker 2
@Barry Gordon: Donatello
@Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil
@Rob Paulsen: Raphael
@Peter Renaday: Splinter, Vernon Fenwick

Mistakes:
1. When Leonardo spots Baxter on the streets, he goes from having 3 fingers on his right hand, to 4.
2. Despite having his weapons transmogrified by the Eye, Leonardo’s swords appear in his belts throughout the first bout with Shredder.
3. Michaelangelo’s bandana tie flaps in the breeze while on the back of the dragon, Leonardo’s doesn’t.
4. Before the commercial break Raphael is sai-less, thanks to the Eye of Sarnath. When we return from the commercial break, you can see them in his hands and belt.
5. When the cops arrive on the scene, there’s an extra bit of green coming of the side of Raphael’s head.
6. Baxter turns an abandoned building into a “veritable Taj Mahal” complete with golden minarets, but the Eye has no effect on gold. Can it create gold out of nothing?
7. Splinter drives the Turtle Van. (It is established later in “Enter: The Fly” that Splinter can’t drive.)

Pizza References:
1. The Turtles use pizza delivery boy disguises again in this episode. Michaelangelo’s warned not to eat the props by Leonardo.
2. Blodget offers to treat the gang to an expensive diner, but when he’s told he had to pay for the news van out of his pocket he says he’ll just order pizza.

Pop Culture References:
1. Baxter’s blob monster looks like the Batman villain Clayface.
2. As Leonardo attempts to free Michaelangelo from the blob monster’s glob, Raphael calls him a “regular Abe Lincoln” a reference to the “Great Emancipator.”
3. The TV in Blodget shows parodies of the Smurfs, Alvin and the Chipmunks and even the Turtles themselves (mixed with a little Rambo).

Wacky Inventions:
1. Alien Crystal Detector (Sarnathometer) Mark 3
2. Baxter’s Rear View Glasses
3. Baxter’s Multi-Function Ray Gun (Disintegrates the Turtles’ sewer worker costumes and generates a hand and foot shaped beam to get the helmet from Blodget.)

Notables:
1. Blodget’s cat Mortimer closely resembles Michaelangelo’s cat Klunk from the TMNT comic books.
2. The “girly grunt” is used twice when the Turtles face Baxter’s blob monster.
3. Shredder says the line, “So much for your blob monster,” twice.
4. Bebop and Rocksteady do not appear in this episode.

Should I do a "Catchphrase Counter"?

These are really cool, man. Keep it up.

Never ceases to amaze me that there are so many mistakes in every single episode.

Dang. That's awesome. To be comprehensive, I'd do a catchphrase dealy. Of course, it'd take forever for me to get around to it. But, I'd love to be able to look at a list someday, and think, "so, that's how many times whoever has always wanted to say that or the Turtles called themselves amphibians". That'd just be too cool for words.

What do you mean by "girly grunt"?

This is great!

Another notable for the last one, at least for me, is that the electrical monster created by Baxter is similar to the one created by Tempestra in Season 4. I've never watched them back-to-back to see how similar they are though. They're obviously not related to each other at all though.

The Girly Grunt...

You asked...and here it is. I used only the 2 from Evil Eye because I couldn't get the Shrinking Turtles episode to import into Movie Maker.

How in the world did the editors let an error like that slip?

Surely they had enough Turtle grunts to choose from!
