Starting to think 80s playmates (varners studio)
is just superior. Ace duck had wings and mutagen man is water-tight. I do not expect Neca's mutagen man to be water-tight. |

The original Playmates toyline does not get the appreciation it deserves. Both Varner Studios and Scott Hensey did a great job with creating the toys. The original TMNT action figures were the best sculpted and detailed figures on the market in the late 80s and 1990s.

Interesting that mutagen man comes with baxters insect mutagen soaker, here's hoping we're getting the channel 6 crew mutations down the road.

Here's a clip of Mutagen Man from the original cartoon series. NECA nailed it and I simply cannot understand the under-appreciation and profound disrespect for Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird and Fred Wolf: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhGpaB-m7do P.S: Ace Duck also didn't have wings in the series (by the way, the NECA version does sport wings, probably fan service): https://turtlepedia.fandom.com/wiki/...ck_cartoon.jpg Last edited by Dask; 04-16-2021 at 10:41 AM. |

Y'all will regret not buying Ace when you have an easy chance.
If you wait until he becomes a Target exclusive, finding him will be a real... Duck Hunt.

So we think Gran/Traag, Casey/April, Mondo/Muck next Friday?
Because that would close out my needs and be amazing.

My guess for next week is a new set with Irma and then reissues of the April set and the Casey set.
It’s possible they could also add the Android body Krang up there too, but that would break the pattern. |

It may not match the toon aesthetics, but will likely sport a fuller, more detailed set of wings. It won't be based on the toon or comics, though. It will be based on some random design decisions (similar to the Playmates).

Got pizza monster last week, and ace duck/MM this week. Happy. VERY much pefer to just pay in advance and the high shipping cost just so I don't have to hunt for something I'll never find. I know it sucks in some ways, but this is the best way to handle the situation in an equitable fashion. Highly commend NECA for doing this for the fans.
Glad I'm collecting these WITH the Super7 line... cause Mutagen Man is absolutely an example where the Playmates version poops all over the toon design. On the TMNT in Disguise set front, I got incredibly lucky and a co-worker grabbed one for me as they were looking in a different part of the metro area and got luckier than me. So, I couldn't ask for a better co-worker, that's for sure. I will get it from them when we next meet up next week. |

Man.... I'm trying really hard not to flame super7 fanboys but you guys are starting to piss me off. Get lost with that comment, every super7 figure is flawed, mutagen man isnt even water tight.

NECA is garbage, it goes both ways homie, and if you listened to interviews with B. Flynn way before production began on MM, you'd have known that he was made to not be water tight
