The art style isn't doing this arc any favors, but the story is interesting. Anyone know how long this artist is on for?

Sophie is still credited as the writer. I'm interesting to see where the Utrom stuff goes.

The awkward writing of Raph and Alopex's relationship continues as there now appears to be out of the blue tension between them regarding Raph being the sheriff. I guess whatever it takes to stop her clinging to him like a sorority girl.

I'm loving this! The comic has conflict again (and some people still think Campbell's actually still writing it? ha!) and the characters involved in this issue - namely Casey with the classic mask and the Punk Frogs - very much reminded me of all the time I spent as a kid looking at the array of action figures in the back of the Playmates figures' packaging. Holy cow, that cliffhanger! It's like a mini within the ongoing! Gimme more!

Yeah, I wasn't so sure with the previous issue, but this issue really didn't feel like Sophie's usual writing, outside of maybe the scenes with Alopex and everyone arguing. I'm not sure if it's being co-written by the new editor who replaced Bobby (I forgot his name?), or Tom Waltz is ghost writing, but the whole Utrom/Triceraton stuff and the Punk Frog scenes are written very different than issues 101-124.

He's now the IDW group editor - he oversees basically all of the company's comic output.

This. I was really puzzled and wondered how much Kitsune had to mind wammy her for this radical shift.

Yes, he is credited as the co-editor on this along with Bobby.
Which, uh... Does mean he is credited as both editor and story consultant on a book with a "Story by" credit but no actual "Script by" credit... And when Tom was the writer, every issue did have him credited with scripting, even if he did share "story by" credit with Kevin. Not saying that is a slamdunk or anything (please don't call me a conspiracy theorist here, I am taking my own idea with a grain of salt here), but that sure is one interesting way to divide up the credits. The previous script writer, always specifically credited as such, is now both editor and story consultant on a book that has no script credit in favor of a "story by" credit. Again, nothing can be said for certain about what is going on behind the scenes, but it sure is interesting. |

Sophie is still the lead writer of series regardless of what any of the idiots on here say.
