The regular version out next week is about 80 pages.

The deluxe edition coming in November is about 100 pages and comes with an additional story and an art gallery.

Additional story? Any idea what version of the turtles that will be?

Was anyone able to get a physical copy at a comic book store today? I traveled to three, and called five more stores within driving distance of where I live. No one had it. Several stores said there was a shipment delay. The other stores had no idea there was a 40th anniversary comic. Major bummer. I guess I'll have to go to freaking eBay to get a physical copy.

*And for anyone who tells I should've pre-ordered: my local store always carries plenty of extra copies of everything. This has never happened before.

I managed to find a physical copy in Norwood, MA.

Forgot to add this to my lcs pull list, but I saw 4 copies on shelf with variant covers. I got the Bisley cover.

Just read it.

Some great short stories, and it's always fun to revisit different TMNT worlds - though I am surprised at which iterations didn't show up.

Loved Waltz's piece.

I noticed the Archie one is essentially a toned down remake of the Raphael Micro.

Weirdly I liked the Rise of the TMNT story the most. Felt like a nice epilogue for that short-lived cartoon.

Casey Jones FINALLY makes his debut in Archie Adventures canon! It only took what...over 30 years!

The Mirage and Image stories were nice and short, not much to say about them. Tristan's Tales story was cool. I also liked the original cartoon story and the Nick 2012 story which will hopefully lead to a movie down the road. 2k3 one was fun too mostly for the art.

The IDW canon stories were nice, hopefully they are in the collections.

For me, the best stories are: "Monsters" and "Farewell".

Just reading this, but I really feel that "Mirage 1 story" isn't really Mirage. It's Eastman for sure, but Mikey isn't Mirage version. Not that there's much story as such, but even the picture isn't it.

Can the Jim Lawson story fit into canon? I guess you can say Rat King was wandering the streets slowly going insane before going to the warehouse in the Tales issue. I forget if they were in Northampton or not in that issue.

As if Last Ronin Mikey wasn’t emo enough, now we have an Edgar Allen Poe poem associated with him.

Am I crazy or was “Monsters” a fairly thinly veiled orange-man-bad attempt?

No, it’s definitely TLR. Which is crazy that they didn’t advertise it as such considering how popular that series is.

Then again most people that love TLR probably just think “dur hur hur, Grimdark is so epic” and might be let down by an artsy little piece like this.

Probably won't be, but it's easy enough to work out where they fit in; Father's Day is around 108 to 112 and Teen Spirit is during 131/132.

Father’s Day is in June, does that help narrow down a specific issue for that one?

It's more going off of the dialogue. Alopex is running the soup kitchen and April is working for Baxter so that puts it pre- Punk Frogs (and 124 was a Christmas issue). Also Casey has shorter hair and hasn't derailed like we see him in the Tokka & Rahzar/ Battle of the Bands arc (113 - 118 ) so it fits best either just after Slithery (106-108 ) or during the following arc (109-112).
