Pretty good yeah, basically x-rated comedy comics with titles such as "Killer 'B' Girls", "Bar Scenes", "Wooden T's", etc. There were a ton of these mini comics from Clay Geerdes back in the day. Eastman and Laird both had contributed to them at times. Neat stuff.

Thanks bud. Another new arrival today: A pre-TMNT Laird work from 1981 to go with the Eastman one. Scat Vol 4 #3! This was a local magazine to the Northampton area in MA. Laird only contributed the back cover ad art, but it's a pretty cool drawing. I want to say I've seen it somewhere before. Anyone know where?

edit: Lost pic

One more pickup: This just arrived from Mirage.
Volume 2, #1, page 11 original art. It's an April and Casey page featuring a reference to April's first appearance, complete with Mousers!
I appreciate Laird and Lawson taking time out to sign and sketch the page for me.

Have a great weekend.

Back from the dead!!
Here are my few acquisitions this year so far.
I just acquired these rare pre-TMNT Eastman works. They're adult mini comix from 1981 to 1982, adding to my collection of similar books on page 7 of this thread. The books are:

-Hostiler Humor, three one-page comics on the interior by Eastman

-Sleazy Horror #7, one-page comic on the interior by Eastman

-Sweet Cheeks #4, cover by Eastman

-Sweet Cheeks #5, wraparound cover by Eastman

note: (I've strategically covered racy parts of the covers since this is a family forum)

I also acquired a few Dark Horse Miniatures sets this year:
Great condition version of the very first set:

Fugitoid, Jones, Triceraton in 3rd packaging:

Terror Bears in great condition (I have an extra set now if anyone needs one, PM me):

See my full DH Minis collection on page 1. Only one set to completion now!

Outside of that, it's been a really slow year for Ebay sales, plus I've been focused elsewhere, hence very few acquisitions. I hope all of your collections are flourishing!

What's it worth?

Hi all, Im trying to find info on this 'upper ground #1' as I also own one (also signed). I can't find much about it online, CGC don't have one, I'm just curious as to it's value for insurance purposes.
Be great if somebody could help.
All the best.

My collection is pretty focused, and not very large. It's mostly comic-related items, very few toys/figures.
Also, there really is no order, rhyme or reason to these pics!

Tmnt #1, 1st printing, CGC 8.5

Scat #1, a pre-TMNT publication featuring an early Laird few-page comic story:

Upperground #1, a 1985 publication with a Laird Leonardo pin-up (already signed when bought):

Thanks for bumping my old collection thread.

Unfortunately, I don't have much info on the Upperground book. It's one of those really rare items with very little demand. I'd assume if it came to market, it might fetch $50-100. However, the vintage signatures might be the main point of interest for something like this, as I think there is a market for early Eastman and Laird signatures, especially Laird since he has retired from signing. I'd guess if it was going to be worth more, it's because of the signatures. With the signatures, maybe it could fetch $200-250?

I can say I've only seen a handful of copies over 20+ years. But I can also say I haven't seen many people actively searching for it.

I think I paid about $10-15 for mine, but back in the early 2000s on Ebay. Just curious, where and when did you acquire yours?

It's very hard to price items like this for insurance purposes, with almost no market data. Good luck!
