Toy Fair 2019 (February 16 - 19)

Toy Fair in New York is starting soon! Hopefully we will get some good reveals.
What are you all expecting (or hoping for) this year?

Great list.

Anything else is still just a pipe dream to me, essentially.

NECA has posted on Twitter that there will be no news on the Leatherhead, Slash, Traag and Granitor figures during Toy Fair.

Thats fine! I am in turtle heaven right now with the last few years of releases. Perfectly acceptable to space this stuff out. I would also bet that those will be SDCC exclusive set anyway...no need to show them at TF

From Playmates I'm expecting turtle variants, like every year. For the basic line I'm expecting bug busters but I'm hoping for the wrestling outfits. If I had to bet on any villains it would be Hypno-Potamus and I'm hoping for Warren Stone to be packed in with some other figure. Probably going to see some new vehicles but I'm not expecting anything in particular.

With NECA's success with their Turtles stuff I wouldn't be surprised if Playmates tries to take another crack at the collector's market, but I'm not expecting much. Seriously, how do they manage to keep screwing that stuff up?

Yeah, I'm really interested in seeing what new possible NECA stuff we may get teased ... but I'm not holding my breath as I'm sure the bigger news on stuff we don't already know about (the Target 2-Pack) will be SDCC news. Either way, it's always fun really fun to hear what Randy has to say regarding TMNT and NECA.

Also, I feel like every single Playmates coverage we see at Toy Fair for TMNT it gets more disingenuous than the year before ... not like that's anything new for them. The once great Playmates has kind of been reduced to the laughing stock of TMNT figures.

I wonder if the reworked classic logo on that image means that Playmates will be paying any attention to classic turtles.

Look, I both know and agree that NECA's classic stuff has blown anything playmates has ever tried out of the water. That said, I still very much love my Playmates classic collection movie figures. They are no where near what NECA has been able to do, but I still think they're fun toys.

So, anyway, I'm curious as to what the presence of the reworked classic logo means. Maybe just so more re-releases? I'd be okay with that. I had fun picking up some of those re-released vintage figures at TRU. Maybe they have something in mind for the 35th anniversary? I know 35 years doesn't have the same impact as 25, or even 40, but it's still a milestone.

Would love to see them re-release the old movie star figures. That was rumored some time ago, but obviously that's never happened.

That logo's been in use for a while, it's just the generic "retro TMNT" logo.

Yes, but it's the fact that it was included in a ToyFair banner that is cause for rampant speculation, and why not? It's fun!

I'm looking forward to seeing 1/4 1990 shredder in the booth. And I'm hoping we might hear more about the impending Neca SDCC set whether that is more 1990's goodness like a shrunk down shredder and foot ninja pack, possibly more gamestop releases like Casey, April, Splinter and more. And finally I would like to hear more news about the 87 cartoon line and just hope against hope that a 2k3 series is in the works...

I'm really hoping to see NECA reveal a 7", 1990-film Raph in disguise/Casey Jones two-pack (as I can't bring myself to hope for another 4-figure wave, and it would be too early to expect Shredder and the Foot soldier in 7").

I'd also get really excited for a 1:4 Casey Jones.

Neca Casey would be so cool.

I was watching the first film the other day and fell in love with that portrayal of Casey all over again. I just love how that movie portrays the characters.

Can't find anything TMNT-related yet on Twitter. I did spot lots of other images already (Power Rangers, Toy Story 4, DC, Marvel, Transformers etc.), so it's starting!
