Heh-heh. To be fair, I did say "or maybe not".
That said, I went to the shelf this evening to gather toys for tomorrow's shoot... and realized I don't want to photograph any of it. It'd just be yet another week of Lone Ranger and Ninja Turtles. I need some fresh toys. |

I just recall many people being sad at your leaving the 1-18 scale.

They'll be happy this week; I photographed one of the H.A.C.K.S. figures this morning. It's the greatest 1:18 figure I have ever seen. |

I really want the Gorgons, but can't justify the price, at least not at this point. Mind you by the time I'm employed again next year I'll be paying higher prices...but oh well.

I still haven't completely abandoned my dream of creating a giant custom sewer lair for my Turtles. Yesterday I captured some quick shots of some Playmobil props and accessories in the 2003 sewer.

That there is the "Tactical Truck" from the Playmates Out of the Shadows series. It looks pretty fun, but it also looks very plastic and toylike. Plus, it's a bit small. I've been eyeballing larger, more realistic alternatives from Dickie and Bruder. I was bummed to discover that the Bruder truck I'd been studying at Wal-Mart for a week or two is gone... but then I found one beat to hell at the thrift shop for $3, versus the $40 Wally World is charging and the $99 (!!!) some local store is charging. Like I said, part of it is broken and it's missing its dumpster accessory (I suspect the dumpster that came with the Nick sewer might work with it, but mine is currently in Canada receiving a makeover from my buddy heymilt!), but it's huge, and frankly I don't care that it's broken 'cause I reckon the Turtles are pretty tough on their rides. The Turtles cannot sit in the seats (although I bet you could pop the legs off some of the Mix and Match figures and set them properly inside the cab), and it's not like I really need a garbage truck for my darn Turtles, but for three bucks, I'm quite happy. And it has the same color pattern! Huzzah! Last edited by Monte Williams; 08-25-2019 at 01:45 PM. |

Way back in early March, I suggested that the Miles From Tomorrowland Stellosphere spaceship playset would be a cool substitute for the nicely sculpted but comically undersized Fugitoid ship.
...and now, five months later (!!!), I finally caved, 'cause Wal-Mart had one lonely, dusty Stellosphere for $25 rather than $40. Much more in this thread: http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=54757 Moving on... I added tons of wacky accessories to my Nickelodeon Party Wagon, both on the exterior: (I'm inordinately amused by the parking meter on the grille) Last edited by Monte Williams; 08-25-2019 at 01:49 PM. |
