I'm assuming Waltz goes back to writing and Campbell is the initial artist. Either that or it's a new book entirely.

One of the twitter responses from a patron on...well...Pateron said that they are anxious for this, even more so than anyone with out context. I scanned Pateron, but as I'm not a patron I can't view posts, but I can see a faded/obscured version of this image in a post about a TMNT Free Comic Day project Sophie is working on.

Sounds like it could be one of two things:
- Waltz and Sophie co-write the main ongoing after a certain point, which was likely to happen anyway - Waltz and Sophie do a one-off mini-series together similar to The Last Ronin based sorta on Mirage TMNT |

I’m intrigued. Seems like it could be an interesting idea and that preview image looks very cool.

Might be a prequel to Last Ronin, in the Last Ronin universe. Probably that.

Didn't someone say there may be a Last Ronin Prequel comic in the works for FCD?

There's a new tweet response from Sophie at that link indicating that this project is unrelated to Ronin.
Also not an IDW reboot. |

Might just be the start of a back to basics arc or mini for the 4 main Turtles.

Judging by the title, the poses, and the word bubble. My idea is that this is an alternate timeline of Mirage, possibly taking place after volume 1 (hence after Peter and Kevin)

"They are not wearing costumes". Only unnecessary clothes. That image is cool though, I love Sophie' style.

To be fair, tmnt was kind of Proto-Naruto when presenting Ninjas, when in the masks were just the karate bandana that was in Pop culture. What was that old meme? “Why do they wear masks?”

People doubting Sophie's ability to render pretty dark and gritty TMNT don't have very long memories.
If we're to take the image's coloring as literal, though... perhaps the four Turtles are drugged or possessed or something and made to do "evil." Because the eyes.

I assume that’s just going to be an artsy way of doing the “pupil-less” eyes without just doing them white.

Could it be a continuation of the deviations timeline?

Went to check looks like I'm banned from Sophie's Twitter...
I don't think I've even said anything I months. Even Randy from NECA has thicker skin than this. |

People are taking way too much away from the "AFTER Eastman and Laird" bit. That's literally what you'd have to write if it's any kind of a "lift" from an original piece of art (and story captions, in this case, which is why Tom's name is there, too, and he's not an artist) by someone else, which is what it is, and not some kind of clue to this or that.

True. One of the lesser used definitions of "after" is kind of "in the style of."
