Characters in shows you can't stand
What characters irritate the hell out of you in cartoons/anime/live action shows? What characters just rub you the wrong way so much you wish you could reach through your tv screen and shut them up? Or maybe you don't hate or strongly dislike them, you just don't care for their character so much?
for me in anime: Sailor Mars: from the Sailor Moon dub (she is not so bad in the sub but still not so great) she is just a cocky little biotch and she is just wants chad as her whipping boy Bulma: From the Dragon Ball series. What a freakin shallow bitch/slut!! Ugh I just can't stand her. What the hell is her damn problem? all any one has to do is look in her direction and she she screams her head off at you. She acts like she has a stick jammed up her ass all the time Chi-Chi: From the Dragon Ball series. Man what a shrew! the woman is as bad as Bulma. Except she's way more of an uptight bitch who won't cut the umbilical cord and get off her Gohans back! Man talk about being a nag! Poor Goku gets hen pecked by her all the time. Hakafu: the main character from Ikki Tousen. My God what a useless character. All her character is, is a pair of boobs with no personality or brains. I just find it hard to believe that any one can be so niave or have such a lack of self awarness that they would not know that their boobs or panties are exposed. But then no one in that anime seem to care when their privates are exposed. Yamazaki: from Card Captor Sakura that always tells really stupid and off the wall stories and tells them as facts. The one that always has his eyes closed. Can't stand him. Akane : from Ranma 1/2. Well... I don't actually hate her but her personality and mannerisms really get on my nerves. She always jumps to wrong conclusions and she never gives Ranma a chance to explain/defend him self. Plus she hits him over little things Cartoons: Jean Grey: from X-Men. Normally I like characters like her with pshychic powers and normally I think she is a very cool character but often times in the show she came off as to weak, plus I was a little annoyed by the rivalry between Cyclops and Wolvern over her. Cyclops: from X-Men. I...can't really put my finger on why exactly this guy annoyed me so much but for some reason he bothered me. I found him a biut to much like a perfectionist and I thought he was a shamless suck-up to the Proffessor and alot of times I didn't care for how he led the team. Miss Cuttingham: from Tale Spin. Maybe it the fact she had a whinney voice (she was voiced my Sally Struthers ) but she was just so tempermental and bitchy. I mean I know that Balloo tried her patients alot but she really flew off the handle way to quickly. Shut-Up already! Inspector Gadget: from...Inspecter Gadget. I know I'm probably making enemies right now for this but I disliked him so much I couldn't watch the show. Janine: from the first two seasons of the Real Ghostbusters. In the first two seasons she had the most annoying nasally voice with a hard edged brooklin accent. Plus she came off really sort of dumb and sarcastic. I know that it is not every ones favorite but I liked when Kath Sousie took over the part and they softened her personality a bit. from live action show: Jakie: from That 70's Show. Oh my lord, words can not express my annoyance with this character. WHat a bossy, bitchy, menstral, shallow brat she is. She became slightly more tolereable when she started going out with Hyde but still she is one character I sure would like to smack the snot out of. David: from Roseanne. If any one remembers this show David was the emo guy that showed up in middle of the show as Darlen's live in boyfriend. He started out ok, even though he was a total doormat for Darlene who was slightly cool. But after a while the writers just made him more and more pathatic as time went on. He had zero back bone and he was just forever getting verbally or physcally pwned by every one in the house. Becky: from Roseanne. She was the oldest daughter of the show and a go-getter over achivier. God, how I hated Becky. She was whinny and emotinal and took teenage agnst to a new level. I hated how she didn't give a damn about any one but her self and her boyfriend Mark. And I really despised her when Dan's motorcycle shop business went under, which really devestated Dan (and could have put the family in a fincial bind) and all Becky could care about was how Dan's motorcycle business would put her boyfriend Mark out of the job since Mark was Dan's only employee. And even went so far as to berate her father for mismanaging the bussiness would ruin Mark's life. Then she went and eloped with her boyfriend as an act of definace and then later started to regret it and yelled at Roseanne for letting her do such a thing. WTF? I so longed for Rosanne to bitch slap her, just once fo9r being such a self centered brat.

My guess is you don't like bitchy women..
Hmm.. Trying to recall a character I can't stand.. Oh, yeah, that kid in Futurama.. Uhm.. Cubert! And.. Teri Bauer from the first season of 24.. I know, she's going through hell, but she's just acting so pathetic I still have some problems with her.. Actually, a lot of the characters from the 2K3 TMNT-cartoon.. Uhm.. Mostly those created just for the cartoon, but also Michelangelo.. That's what I can think of right now.. I think it's much easier to hate real people, than it is to hate characters from TV-shows..

From anime, I cannot stand Ack-io from Revolutionary Girl Utena and Alcyone from Magic Knight Rayearth. My least favorite Sailor Senshi is Venus, but I do not hate her.

actually I got the idea for this thread on another board that I frequent
Quote:
more anime characters: Naruto: from...Naruto. At least I really can't stand his voice in the dub. He just annoys me and I think he over reacts to things Saske: from Naruto honeslty I'm just so done with coldly stoic and calm characters that are supposedly bruting loners who thinks that every one around them is incompentent. They are sooo cliche at this point and done to death in anime that characters like him become a dime a dozen. Yukito: from Card Captor Sakura. Honesty I didn't get why Sakura fell so damn head heels for the guy. I never thought he was so great and her obsession with him got to the point of being annoying. It was to the point that I thought her"crush" on him was a bit forced. Plus I thought that he was a Mary Sue character who was too perfect at every thing and overly nice plus his mannerisms really annoyed me. Yue: From Card Captor Sakura. To be honest I just never got into the guy. Yes he is cool looking and he has the strong enigma persona but...I just never cared for his character. Maybe its a hold over from my dislike of Yukito but I just don't care for him that much. I liked it better when it was just Sakura and and Kero-chan. Chad: from Sailor Moon (I don't know his japanese name). I just don't care for this guy, they make him way to goofy and childish to be taken seriously as a love interest for the hot tempered Rie. The writters couldn't have made him more of an equal for Rie? He was made out to be basically Rie's whipping boy that she always screamed at and he would just scamper to do her bidding to get her attention. And I was never fond of the the psudo rocker/surfer voice the anime gave him in the American dub. Jaken: from Inuyahsa. this guy grovels so much thats its pathatic. Plus his American dub voice is just grating

hmmmm. Looks like this should have been named "characters in anime you hate"
but I don't watch anime. Oh well. I love to hate House. Good show, good character. He gets the job done, but he's an ass to all the sick people while he's doing it. (and no, sweetie, I do not find him attractive in the least sorry...inside conversation) Love and Hate that character.

But characters I can't stand: From Animaniacs- The Flame. What dull, dreary, unfunny segments made for a TV show that was intended as non-stop hillarity, even when it was educational. he really seemed out of place there. From King of the Hill- Luanne and Lucky. I like Tom Petty, don't get me wrong, but the idea of KOTH was that the characters weren't low class rednecks. And Luanne is just comming off like Ralph Wiggum now. SHe's not supposed to be smart, but she's not a drooling imbecile either. From The Simpsons-Ralph Wiggum, Cletus, and Sideshow Mel. These characters were good for a laugh in the single digit seasons, sure. But the lazy writers rely far, far too much on making fun of their accents and speach impediments for cheap laughs. That stuff lost its edge years ago. From Masked Rider- Furbus. I will admit, I didn't like the sentai shows on Fox kids (half as much as most of the animated fare, anyway)... but adding a sqeaky brown puppet alien... no thanks. No thanks. and finally... From the Muppet Show Miss Mousey... just the ugliest muppet I've ever damn seen. Thankfully she didn't appear much.

Cartoons: Cubert: From Futurama. I found stories centered on him so boring. Patty and Selma: from the Simpsons. What a couple of bitter old hags. The Smurflings: from the Smurfs. I didn't hate or even find them annoying, I just didn't care for them to much. The one I liked was the one that was always slouching. Captain Hero: from Drawn Together. He's not even funny any more.

Raph in the 2k3 TMNT. I didn't hate him, he just might as well have not been there. All he's good for is smacking Mikey.

I'm not a big fan of Kate from Lost. I don't think the character is interesting enough to justify the screen time she's given. At least Sawyer and Jack have their occasional badass moments.
Dr. House is really annoying. It seems like aside from being really good at what he does, he's a real piece of s***. I haven't seen every episode, but is there anything redeeming about the guy aside from the fact that he knows his stuff? I mean, it's not that I don't like smartass characters, but with House it's every other thing he says. It gets old. Peter Petrelli from Heroes started to bug me a little in the second season. I don't see what point Maya really has either. As far as "love to hate" characters go, Cain from Battlestar. Well written storyline, she's a good antagonist to Adama. She represented what would happen if someone was put in charge who didn't care about other people and was just hellbent on getting payback. |

As long as you get the concept. I've met too many people who hated the show and clearly didn't get the point. Though, I would say that kind of thing would be better for a "Shows you can't stand" type deal than a characters type thing.

And I'll agree with Jean Grey and Cyclops. Though they are in ALL forms. (Though Cyclops in the movies wasn't SO bad, I still didn't much like him.) There are more than that, but I'll have to think of some later.

Jaken: from Inuyahsa. He's very annoying and he makes me want to punch his lights out.

I cannot stand Rosie Webster from Corination street, she seems to be exactly what people expect all late teens to be like. Flirtacious and bitchy.
The same for Stacey Branning fro Eastenders. Described as tough, stubborn, fiery and bitchy, plus I dont think she knows trousers exist. She always wears mini skirts or hot pants even in winter. Or maybe I don't like them 'casue they represent everything I hate about how people see teenage girls. I also hate soaps but my mum and brother love them.

Dragonball Z- I can't stand that fat ass Yojirobi. All he does is hold that sword with a pack of senzu beans. When trouble comes, he wimps out.
Teen Titans- Starfire really gets on my nerves sometimes b/c all she does is ask stupid questions and trying to look like a complete idiot. Ed, Edd, & Eddy- I can't stand Ed's sister Sarah. Nothing funny or important comes out of her mouth.
