Coming Out of Their Shells Music
Hey all,
Jamming out to the CootS music - for all the campiness, this production had some really catchy, good tunes! "Count On Us" is probably my favorite...I think it's the most memorable, although it could be due to nostalgic favoritism! Although "Walk Straight" and "Pizza Power" are definitely favorites as well...I always liked "Skipping Stones" and "April's Ballad" least, go figure. Skip this. Which song do you like best? PS - This is from the track-listing of the album release, not what was performed on stage, cause I'm pretty sure a few songs are missing like Shredder's horrid song... For me, it's Pizza Power. I just can't get it out of my head as it's so catchy I even can whistle it, followed by the popular "Count on Us", as it really represents what following the ninja code is all about. The Shredder's "I Hate Music" song makes me laugh as it was about destroying music, and many rock fans say that rap is "not music"!

I had a tough time picking between Cowabunga and Pizza Power but Pizza Power is just more catchy.

"Walk Straight" I've always loved funk.
That's "Cowabunga", man. "Follow Your Heart" is the Mikey ballad in the live show that wasn't on the tape. Oh, and there are two versions of "Coming Out Of Our Shells" (the acoustic version on the tape & the electric version from the live show) as well as two versions of "Count On Us" (the album version & a promo-only dance mix).

Walk Straight. Pizza Power is too obvious, and it was used in Turtles In Time. Of course everyone will go for that. Not I.

It's hard for me to pick just one song... ignoring the two obvious choices of Count on Us and Pizza Power, I've always liked Sing About It and Walk Straight (... and all of the other ones...).

I voted Skipping Stones because when I had the "Coming Out of Their Shells Tour" on cassette (yeah you heard me cassette), I remember listening to it...and I really liked it. I pictured Splinter singing it while the Turtles watched him sing. (I was very young when I saw it)
Anyways, If i could vote for 2, the other would be Pizza Power--and I had no idea it was used for Turtles in Time until I found out here on the forum...small world.

I voted "Pizza Power", because it was always my favorite on the album. (I don't care if it's a "predictable" or "obvious" choice; it was my favorite, dammit! ) Plus, if you heard that instantly recognizable opening riff in an arcade, you knew Turtle-y Goodness was near!

I can't believe they did a sequel, I never ever knew this. When did this happen, and where was it?!
Their sound got way trippy, haha |

I hated every single one of these songs, even as a child. It was years before I made the connection between "Pizza Power" and the "Staff" track in Turtles in Time (the SNES version, of course), so I guess that wins. Same melody, just not nearly as badass-sounding as in Turtles in Time. My guess is that I didn't realise they're the same song, because I never finished watching the whole Coming Out of Our Shells, every time I tried to stomach it, which wasn't often.
And for the record, spinach is probably the best pizza topping ever. |

Pizza Power is so awesome! I have all the songs on my mobile phone and I listen to that one the most I like The Coming Out of Their Shells Tour, by the way.

Pizza Power was the best pizza song ever done, until 19 years later when the Jonas Brothers had a cute pizza song.
Sewer Surfin wasn't on the list. I liked seeing Mikey playing guitar in that number.
