Wonder Woman 2
Since there's no thread for the Wonder Woman Sequel. I thought I create it.
Kristen Wiig is in talks to play the Villain Cheetah for Wonder Woman 2. The sequel will be set in the 80s during the Cold War. http://deadline.com/2018/02/kristen-...n2-1202306419/ |

Kristen Wiig, maybe. Cold War... why? Can we not move forward to post-Justice League? This sequel really didn't need to be another BvS prequel. Oh well, Jenkins and Gal made a great first movie; I'm confident they'll go 2 for 2.

I dunno... I've read a lot of Cheetah appearances and there's nothing in Wiig's resume that would lead me to believe she's remotely suited for "ferocious, bloodthirsty femme fatale with muscles."

It's actually necessary, in a way. WW at the end of WW is certainly not the same WW we saw in BvS. But then Gal Gadot said that was just retconned away, or something. Dumb. The Cold War itself isn't a very exciting choice, though.

I rather she fight human soldiers again than the boring CGI monsters like in Suicide Squad and Justice League.

Eh, considering how patchwork the DCEU has been, I'm not going to complain about such a relatively minor retcon. It just feels like playing it way too safe when you end up doing a Wonder Woman prequel trilogy.

I hope Cheetah looks kind of like the Injustice 2 version.

Seems they are trying to keep WW solo movies away from the rest of the DCCU.
Can't blame them. |

I happy for the villain choice but Kristen Wiig..really! Too bad Emma Stone turned it down.

Wonder Woman doesn't have a good rogues gallery outside the typical greek god characters like Hades, Ares, etc.
Outside of Cheetah who else is there? Giganta? |

Maxwell Lord would certainly qualify! Oh, and Veronica Cale. Strife was awesome in the New 52. Ooh, what about bringing over Gorilla Grodd? Or, do what Justice League couldn't... Darkseid and Grail!!! Plenty of badass foes right there.

When I heard the news that Cheetah would be the villain in WW2 I was hella excited; I'm a sucker for cat-based super characters.
When I heard Emma Stone turned down the role I was relieved (nothing against Stone I just don't think she'd be right for the part) When I heard Kristen Wiig was being considered I was pretty nonplussed but after seeing that fan-art I think she could be a good fit if they approach the character the right way

As Andrew and I have pointed out, Wonder Woman has plenty of villains.
The character we should be worrying about who DOESN'T have many villains is Cyborg. Although there's still no way that movie is actually going to happen.

I will sound like CyberCubed now, but I am pretty sure that aside from Cheetah and Circe very few people know any of the guys posted above.
I am not particularly well-versed in the comic books, but I've heard about some characters in passing and almost all of those gals and guys posted by Andrew are unknown to me. Which of course doesn't mean that it is how for everyone else. |

Yup, I barely know Cheetah and only because of the DC animated films.

Cheetah was in Justice League Unlimited and Brave and the Bold cartoons. As well as the old Superfriends show in the 70's. She's probably the most well known Wonder Woman villain.
Of course to me she's always felt like, "discount Catwoman" but I admit that's because I don't read comics. |

I'm surprised that anyone is surprised that Wonder Woman's rogues gallery is relatively unknown. It's only in recent years WW has gotten into the mainstream... let alone her rogue's gallery. No one is going to know who any of her rogue's are until they stick them in a movie, or in a WW cartoon or something. There's tons to draw from in the comics. Good ones.
"Genocide" has the coollest origin of all. It's like her own Doomsday. Some bad guys plucked Wonder Woman's own dead body from the distant future, animated it, made it evil, and sent it against Wonder Woman in the present. Genocide even took WW's whip and, like, threaded it through its own body to make it even more powerful.
