I'm about to watch the evangelion movies, how are they? I like the original show but I was never obsessed with it like most people are.

The one they made back in 1997/1998 is actually the series finale.

The modern ones are basically reboots/retellings of the story, so it's the same thing with some updated/story differences.

Just finished The Seven Deadly Sins manga. Honestly if you can get behind the idea of the BS level of escalation, it’s fun.

I must of missed the 30 chapter storyline of where King was ravaged.

But i getcha, ecchi isn't for everyone. Luckily it's a series that doesn't really have a strong focus on it. Then again I only read the manga. the "ecchi" scenes happens for like 1 panel every like 40 chapters.

90% of all anime has fanservice besides shows aimed at very young kids. And even shows like Pokemon have it from time to time (although obviously much more subtle), so it's always there.

Did You Know that many women also have fantasies about rape or similar, and some of them even watch or view FICTIONAL depictions of it for purposes of entertainment, and that even in doing so they in NO way whatsoever condone rape, wish to be raped, or want anyone else to ever be raped? This may shock you, but it's true!

Moral being, like or dislike what you wish, but don't kink-shame people.

Personally, I happen to agree, a lot of stuff I've seen in anime is rather "rape-y", and I have mixed feelings about that sometimes. I don't always find it entertaining. Not that I look at much anime of any type ANYway, but I digress. BUT, like Alan Moore would agree, "It's all fake, so... no 'victim', no crime." Drawings on paper by definition cannot be victims of sexual assault, on account of the fact that they don't exist or have sex organs. So, y'know... there's that.

One could argue about whether or not consuming such media is "healthy" or not, but the truth is that 99.999% of people who view such material will never rape or assault anyone. So it's kind of a moot point.

Nobody has to like it. But, they also don't have to watch it, either. Ain't that neat? I think that's neat.

Been watching some new Kaiju anime. Godzilla Singular Point and SSSS. Dynazenon (which is a sequel to SSSS.Gridman, which is a sequel to Gridman (or known in America as Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad.)

Both seems to be a bit of a slow burn (special Godzilla) but both have been good.

To be fair, the concept of sexual assault doesn't really exist in anime unless it goes into super dark super realistic territory.

Most of the time it's 'grab boob, guy is hit by giant anime mallet's 'joke over, move on'.

Been reading To Your Eternity which is good. And been watching Initial D and Cyborg 009. Classics.

I rewatched the classic Neon Genesis Evangelion and I think it gets better with each rewatch, I'm not one of those who say that about many shows or movies either, I think this might be the only one. I wanted to get ready to remember the anime before I watched all the movies.

So far watched the first two rebuild of evangelion movies and it's weird, I think they're inferior so far, don't like the remake the first movie was or even the remix the second movie is. It doesn't seem like they know what direction they wanted to move the series, not a fan of the new eva pilot either. The first movie at first seemed like a direct sequel but I'm not sure anymore, it'd be a crappy sequel if it is.

Rei's boobs are drastically bigger in Rebuild; I mean before she had this slight frame but in the first scene we see Rei in she's got like Asuka-scale knockers.

It's too bad the anime has creepy sexualization of 14 year olds. When I was a teen I didn't mind anime fanservice much but now, obviously as a 30+ year old, looking back at these scenes now make me cringe.

Especially when you realize most of the casts are only teenagers yet they're written with the complex emotions of 25-30+ years olds. No 14 year old could possibly have the thought process as these kids.
