I've gotten into My Hero Academia. Seen the 1st season and I've caught up to where the show is currently. I've also got physical copies of the 2nd and 3rd manga chapters (thanks to getting some Shonen Jump-Jump Packs on the cheap) and that Free Comic Book Day one.

This is a really good franchise. A refreshing anime that doesn't really have the anime tropes you'd expect. The MC is a good guy you can sympathize with. A lot of quirky characters.

Can't wait to see where the story goes next.

Been re-reading some Monster Musume: I heart Monster girls. It's pretty fun.

Have you seen the anime? If so, is it good? I've heard good things and have been thinking about watching it.

Anime is pretty good, though I haven't watched the uncensored version of it. It's probably my favorite ongoing ecchi/harem series, since all of the monsters are played as extremes. Heck, the MC is probably the most monster of them all.

I've been watching Monster Musame. It's still embarrassing watching this kind of show. But I like it. My favorite girl is Miia. She has a kind heart and a great personality. And I've always been partial to reptiles.
Rachnee is also a favorite of mine, for obvious reasons. Who doesn't like arachnids?

It's a very fun show with plenty of romance. Loads interesting characters with lots of personality.

I considered it but its fandom is downright insufferable

Honestly, Cerea and Rachnee are people I could see myself being friends with. You know, go out for drinks and stuff.

People need to talk about REAL ANIME in this thread.

My boy Gohan is back in his Ultimate form and is going to kick ass in the tournament. Goku is also recruiting Freeza from Hell to fight on the team, I'm looking forward to how that plays out.

I'm disappointed Fat Buu isn't competing, and poor Yamcha left out again, but otherwise I'm stoked.

MY BOY GOHAN.

But it's the anime and manga appreciation and discussion thread, is it not?
Seems to me like the conversation has been perfectly acceptable so far.

there are some irony to this posting

but talking about "casual" the only way for you to be an actual casual if you truly think of yourself as a label such as "nerd"

as for some new series I'm reading.

Citrus - pretty good yuri story. There may be a debate whether it would be considered "incest" but I mean, they are step sisters for about a half a year at this point.

Centaur no Nayami - honestly, this is one of my favorite world building manga. I can understand why many wouldn't like it but I find it great. Every few chapters they would actual break from the main characters and deal with say a war that is going on in some other country.

Detective Conan - need I say anything

Watching series 1 Lupin III

Fudatsuki no Kyoko-chan - I really want to know how the guy's sister turned into a vampire

Happy Sugar Life - a ****ed up yandere relationship, with the yandere as the mc.

Ii Orc no Hi - this is hilarious. It's a play on the cliche of Orcs x Elves.

if you want a good yandere story, go for Koharu no Hibi. It's the only series I know where there isn't a body count.

Just finished watching the rest of Monster Musume, the OVAs, and the shorts.
All in all, it was a really good show. The many characters are their interactions are what really makes the series shine.

I probably won't watch it again though. I don't like all that fanservice and stuff. There's still a lot good about the series, but it's just that I probably don't wanna see all that stuff again.

I definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a lot of smut and a good harem.

Been debating wether or not something like Monster Musume is something I want to pick up the anime for. Since alot of anime adaptations don't get a complete series I tend to just stick to the source material. But for series like Monster Musume, that isn't really important.

Usually, my rule for anime is that
1) if I pick up the manga, I don't get the anime. As said before, anime don't get fully adapted.

2) If I pick up the light novels, I get the anime. Since anime is more of a visual sense, so it's only for extra.

of course, this obviously doesn't count to series where the anime is the original.
