Oh, I seem to have been asleep, I missed the news of Revelations getting another season, I had come to think it was done. Well, I'm up for another season.

There wasn't any news. Just Mark Hammill posting about recently doing Skeletor VA and needing to rest his voice.
I figured it was done, too, considering the general hatred/apathy the first Season got combined with Netflix gutting its animation department, as well as the complete radio silence as far as any sort of news. But there were some rumors and rumblings recently and now this. |

Huh. Kind of like the Dark Crystal series, I assumed it was always intended to be a one-off thing.

And I doubt it, Netflix does things Their Way. At least this time people will know to expect a break at the midway point with the rest of the episodes coming months later. That 4-month break was by far the worst thing about the first batch and the numbers for the second half being so low clearly illustrates that it was a mistake. So I'd much prefer it if they dropped the entire Season at once this time out but I have a feeling they'll do the same thing again just because it's a thing they commonly do. |

Not sure if I wanna dig through 40+ pages of this post, but what is the consensus on that reboot He-Man cartoon? Not Revelation, the other one that also came out in 2021.

Fortnite He-Man? Apparently it's good enough if you can ignore all the race-flippng, gender-flipping, and abundance of in-name-only characters (I, personally, cannot). But looking at the numbers, nobody really watches it.
Apparently it scratches some peoples' itch for a goofy, comedic and "wholesome" MOTU cartoon - lots of people who hated Revelation seem to like this other one for those reasons, like if they found Revelation to be too mean-spirited or whatever. But it's not for me. And apparently the "new audience of children" it was ostensibly made for don't really pay it much mind either, as I predicted. Kids don't give a crap about older franchises. It's all older people watching it who want something more lighthearted. |

I didn't like Revelation, but this one seems like it skews way too much in the other direction.

I did like Revelation, but I feel the same about the CGI show. Too far the other way.
I'm aware part of it is my own personal taste. I just really don't like the type of humor that's so prevalent in kids' shows nowadays. Jokes about Ram-Ma'am (ugh ) pissing in her helmet... yeah, nah, I'm not with it. It's like I always say about TMNT; there's enough old stuff that I either like or tolerate, so I'm set for a lifetime. I don't especially need "new stuff". But that's me. |

I don't mind humor, if it's not stupid and insulting. Getting pregnant with a fart bubble (yes, this really happened) is the kind of humor that's seen in kids' shows nowadays... It's like bad memes, it's about how 'lol random' it can get. I think kids, and audiences in general, deserve better. I don't mind watching cartoons, even 'childish' ones. I'm watching the original Rescue Rangers as I write this, and it's entertaining, and has humor that isn't just chipmunks farting or whatever. There's also the subject of the way the plot and characters are written, and in a lot of modern kid shows, it feels like they either overthink the plotlines in such a way that they end up a convoluted mess or it's mostly a boring slog that doesn't feel fun or adventurous at all. |

I guess it would be too much to ask to hope or expect everything to be at the standard of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I don't see any kids show topping that one's quality anytime soon.
And even that franchise saw fit to dump the original flavor in favor of "The Pony Life", which of course had to be one of those "lol so random" type of shows. I'm glad the cast still got to work and perform the characters, but man, that was a heartbreaker. |

Pony Life was pretty bad. I think the saving grace was the VAs and their performances. Otherwise, it lacked everything that made the original MLPFIM great.
I forgot to mention that there are other modern cartoons that also feel overly saccharine, and 'safe', wherein the characters are all blank stared, and go on super PC, babified 'adventures'. Super boring. So it's typically two extremes, either really dumb comedies (some with adventure, others without) or bland sugary sweet crap. |

Sooo, 5 episodes for this new season... when I was hoping they'd put the whole thing on this time and not split it, this wasn't what I had in mind I wonder if they will do another 5 and pass it off as season 4 or if they are just tying up the ending of the last season.
Well, hopefully it can't take too long to do 5 eps, I'm still interested to see what happens with Hordak and Skeletor. |

Revolution? So they are going the extra mile to kill off King Randor to remove He-man as Adam abandons the power in favor of running Eternia?
I mean...he was made useless at the end of the first season, lets finish that process. |

Nice to have it confirmed. Clownfish on suicide watch
I'll give it another go. The second half of Revelation wasn't nearly as bad as the first. |
