Do people still have "cable?"

In the age of online streaming I honestly forget "cable" still exists. I remember in the 90's everyone made a big deal out of getting cable due to all the additional channels.

Now I forget it's a thing.

My wife clung to it a while but we've been cable free for maybe 3 years now. My mother still has it, though, and every time I go over there I get the same "Tell me again about 'Netflix.' Does it have channels? Is it just movies? I don't watch a lot of movies" questions every time.

Honestly if I didn't play videogames, I would have almost no reason to own a TV anymore at this point. I basically use my TV to play videogames 95% of the time and just watch things on my computer or phone.

We still have cable at our house. None of us really want to replace it with streaming services. If cable wasn’t so expensive, we wouldn’t even consider switching to steaming.

No cable here since 2009. Plenty of people still have it though. I wonder if people still pay for AOL.

Well, Sky TV (Satelite) but same thing really for conent. I still use it enough to keep it but mostly use the movie channels, which have lost a lot of content with streaming sevices coming out. They are currently giving paramount plus free to those who have the movie channels.

I don't even know what "TV" is anymore these days. I honestly can't remember the last time I actually turned it on to flip through the channels to see what was airing. I don't think I've watched anything live with commercials in more than a decade.

Do people still sit down to watch shows that come on at a certain time? Like if a show airs at 8pm, you guys are all ready to watch it? This feels like ancient history now, like 90's-early 2000's stuff.

I use it, but I also don't subscribe to any streaming services. Just feels like it would be gluttonous on my part.

I use the VUDU and MoviesAnywhere services a lot though.
