Or, you know, they have different tastes/expectations from you. The comments I've seen are that making Splinter the monster hunter when his "sons" are the monsters doesn't make any sense. It's also just Splinter in clothes rather than an actual mutated creature like the turtles (same complaint with April). Is Splinter dressed up nicely? Sure. But he's still just Movie Splinter in a Halloween costume.

I wouldn't say Splinter sucks, per se, but he does seem pretty generic for my tastes. To be fair, my opinion on this line is largely irrelevant, as I was out when they saddled Leo with, to my mind, "not a Universal Monster."

I will say this Splinter DOES make me wish the actual movie Splinter had a soft plastic robe rather than the soft goods he came with.

My issue with Leo is more that it doesn't seem like a good fit. Leonardo is the leader, and one of Igor's most well-known traits is being a lackey (specifically to Dr. Frankenstein).

I get the Leo issue above, but from a basic figure perspective, he’s awesome.
Mikey is arriving tomorrow or Tuesday. I don’t think I’ll be dissspointed.

My only complaint about the Splinter figure, is that the lower body doesn't match the upper. Not just in design, but size. His upper body is well dressed, and pretty large, while the upper body being nearly naked and skinny.
It doesn't look good as a design, and it looks aweful as a figure, as it's probably gonna be hell posing him.
My wish is that they should've just made a whole new sculpt, just like they've done with the Turtles. Give the man some pants, and more solid legs.

Thats the thing w/ NECA, it feels like a lazy rush job using the same head sculpt and lower body from the 1990 movie Splinter

yeah, the bottom half feels like they gave up. At least give him a cloth skirt/robe of some kind.

Why do I want Hunchback Leo so badly? It’s pretty ugly but I can’t stop thinking about it. And this is coming from someone who hasn’t bought a figure since Super Shredder and the 1990 Neca tmnt.

Has anyone here picked him up? I think I’m about to order him alongside the Last Ronin figure but I guess I’m looking for some last minute opinions.

That's definitely part of it. I love accessories and the fact that you can store them in there is appealing to me.

Also, the accessories in general, like the brain and skull are way cooler than I'm used to with TMNT toys. I never need to see a plastic pizza slice as long as I live.
