Fiction or non-fiction? Which one do you read more and which one do you prefer?
I'd say it's easier to find non-fiction I like, but nothing beats a really good fiction book in terms of entertainment. Non-fiction is better for learning facts about certain subjects.
I read more fiction, overall. |

I haven't read a, "real book" in over 20 years. Hell if you don't count TMNT comics, I don't read *anything*
I can't even remember the last time I looked at a book. |

If I want to go to sleep, I’ll read either.

Since many people listen to audiobooks these day, I would prefer the term "experience a book" instead. Either by reading, or by listening.

On that note I listened to the Stephen King The Mist "audiobook" when I was younger. It was really good although it was more like a radio drama than anyone reading the book. |

Teachers and such often complain about younger generations reading less and less. Thing is, literature is a very rich medium, and the experience of reading a good novel is great. As for non-fiction, I I've learn more from reading books than from any other sources such as YouTube videos or Internet forum posts. Reading is also good for your health. You're less likely to develop Alzheimers if you're a regular reader. And it also improves sleep since reading relaxes you. You said many years ago that you considered yourself an intellectual. Well, I don't know a single intellectual who doesn't read books. As for Audiobooks, I don't see the point unless you really hate reading or you're blind. |

It reminds me of college vs grammar school. In grammar school you got a book for your "book report", right? But in College and in Grad School everything was "journals" and 'article'. You rarely cited an actual "book" because everything you were reading was "peer reviewed" and immediately updated science. Books are great, but their really is something to be said for quickly digestable, utilitarian information. |

I lean more towards fictional stories more than non-fictional stories. Myths are also a favorite.
For the non-fictional stuff, I'll drift towards educational books. Books on outer space, historical events, dinosaurs, and random facts delight my inner nerd. I also can't say no to National Geographic or Time magazines either.

How many of you guys remember the movie The Pagemaster?
Thanks to the invention of eBooks, the talking books Horror, Adventure, and Fantasy are just sitting on their shelves and collecting dust in the library to this day. Depressing, right?
