Krang you brainiac
I keep hearing Shredder say "Krang you brainiac!" in my head. I'm not sure why.

Did he say that in an episode? I don't recall that.

Eh, whatever, maybe it's weird because Krang keeps making stupid choices and using a word typically meant to describe someone intelligent seems strange when the character acts like a moron? |

I'm pretty sure Shredder has called Krang a braniac before but I no longer have the motivation to sift through all the episodes and check.

Why don't you have the motivation to check? Nothing is more important in life than going through 194 episodes of a TMNT cartoon to find a single line of dialogue.

Also, Krang does make some dumb choices such as preferring to send out his ally and stooges, who constantly fail. All four and two armies could take over the U.N. building with little effort, but...1. Its a cartoon for school aged children ( and older audiences can discover and appreciate). 2. If he didn't make dumb decisions due to arrogance/laziness or whatever the show would not last that long. If there were no holdbacks of prolonging a cartoon then Krang would not have made dumb decisions and decreased the threat level he has the potential to be. I mean, look at Team Rocket, Jesse and James are the poster example of ineptitude. Why? If they were successful then Pok'emon likely would not be going on 24 years later in anime.

Shredder and Krang tried to improve their help but it didn't work out. The foot soldiers was the worst because Shredder and Krang were forced to leave the Technodrome.
In one episode Krang tries to make more mutagen for an army of mutants. Rocksteady and Beebop screwed that one up. Diversions seemed to work the best. In the Big Rip off and My Brother The Bad Guy and Rock Around the Clock diversions were used with success. The Archie Comics were kids' comics and Krang was pretty ruthless in them. At least that's what I've been told. Plus in the cartoon, Krang tried to disintegrate Baxter Stockman. That's the same as trying to kill him. Last edited by the_minimizer; 08-06-2021 at 07:25 PM. |

Wanted: Rocksteady and Beebop raises questions about the 1987 universe. Specifically, how was the Technodrome able to open a portal that big at the Earth's core?

I found it insulting that the Turtles have to be trained to be as capable of fighters as the 2012 ones. I want the most popular incarnation to not be the guest next time so the other versions don't try to fake superiority.

I only saw the beginning of that episode.
Why didn't the Technodrome just leave the Earth's core with a portal and be done? I mean in the 1987 episodes. |

The Technodrome can open a portal and leave wherever it is located, as long as it has energy enough.

Right. I know that. What I didn't understand was why Shredder and Krang didn't do that in the first place in the 1987 episodes. If Wanted Rocksteady and Beebop was an actual 1987 episode, it would make sense. Otherwise, it makes Shredder and Krang look really stupid for not thinking of it before.
