After watching the above review I can say the figure is not as bad as it looked on photos. It probably would've looked even better with a less shiny type of plastic. That's the only issue I can see. Shading on the figure IS there but it is difficult to notice because of the sparkle of the material.

I feel like her "alternate" heads (even though the one based off the vintage figure really should have been the default head) are far too small. I'll wait to have her in hand, but everything I've seen to this point doesn't have me very hopeful.
Related to an earlier point I'd made, the tripod is another good example of where I was referring to how Super7 can't seem to get the scale of the accessories correct. |

that it's made by 2 different people(the figure & the accessories) and then just put together in the package without testing. |

After seeing the video, it does appear to look closer to the vintage than the prototype promo (so, I retract my previous statement about the prototype being better). The default red haired April looks like the orange pockets April from the Playmates line while the alternate head sans headset looks like the vintage April.
Now that I think about it, perhaps Super7 are purists. The S7 April has the exact level of sheen and complexion as the vintage (based on Toy Bro's review and lighting set up). |

And I'm starting to think the 4 horsemen are all hype. Neca has better sculptors than S7 IMHO. |

I think the problem with this wave is, at least from afar, there's really only one outstanding figure in the lot. Rocksteady looks to be the obvious standout, and Mikey is fine, though obviously more of the same. Metalhead's paint application is unfortunate, and April... I don't know what happened. But in the first two waves, I loved all of the figures that weren't Mutagen Man (shoddy construction on Shredder and the Foot Soldier aside). |

The only one I care about in this wave is Rocksteady. This wave is the weakest wave just based on April who always was a borefest character to me, along with Metal head, and the weakest turtle Michaelangelo
So Super7, Hurry up with Wave 4 with Donny, Casey and Muckan |

I wouldn't have high hopes for Casey. His tote bag remains unpainted (it is teal just like the vintage). I'm beginning to think that Super7 is deliberately leaving some accessories unpainted to evoke a sense of nostalgia (case-in-point, the Metalhead). However, I don't seem to understand the logic behind that decision, especially considering that the weapons rack is supposed to serve that purpose.

April is looking better in these pictures and reviews. Still the weak link of the wave but no where near as bad as first feared.
Hopefully get these later this month or early next. The set will definitely start to feel more complete once we have Mikey with his brothers and Rocksteady to pair up with Bebop. |

ToyBro is holding an interview with Super7 toy designer Kyle Wlodyga tomorrow at 10pm Eastern and 7pm Pacific. They’re going to discuss the toyline.
Hopefully, ToyBro will bring up the first release Playmates Mondo Gecko head and talk about the future of the line. |
