I guess it will be a completely new story. This is what reads in IGN:

Wait up guys. I may stand alone here, but I have seen one or two good Hallmark series, both involving Murder and viloence. Even Alice in Wonderland (which I didn't like) was pretty dark. They did Arabian Nights with all it's betrayal and murderous plots, and while their effects aren't up to Hollywood standards, they still look great for TV. I'll be open to it, especially with Steve Barron involved.

LOL, I did a search for Steve Barron on IMDB, and as it turned out, he did work on the Arabian Nights series, and I liked the way that one turned out.

You know that Steve Baroon directed the only good TMNT movie to date right? Well That news is over a year old, but if it is true, Im sure it will be good, no matter what network.

TMNT 1 = Best of all
TMNT 2 = Not too bad, but not too good either TMNT 3 = I should kill myself for mentioning it! |

I can see them disreguarding the third one, but I liked how the second one revealed the origin of the ooze. Maybe they'll just disreguard the whole Vanilla Ice fiasco.

It will probably be a completely new start. There would be no point in continuing the the first movies.

Yeah, I know they will. It's just like how they're doing the new animated series.
The thing is though, people seem to have this odd knack for calling the next motion picture TMNT 4, which would obviously make it look like the next in the original series of movies

I don't see why they can't just consider calling it a remake.

Heh, could be really bad and be a prequel, like Ninja Turtles: before the ooze....

If they did the prequel, it would be overly boring. Considering in TMNT 1, Leo talks to Splinter and says they won their first battle. Meaning they didn't do crap before that tiff with the dudes opressing April.
Hallmark probably won't screw up....Their channel plays Alf, and who doesn't like a hairy puppet that talks about eating "Cats" all the time. It's funny because Hallmark didn't notice the underlying joke behind Alf always wanting to eat "Cats". Maybe they did notice, then I'f have a lot of faith in Hallmark. As long as the turtles don't start babbling off ebonics, it should be good. |

Yup, I knew he directed it, and at the time, I was saddened that he was out for the second and third.

But why was TMNT one so good? Filmed in 1989 with that cool director and the Jim Henson Company, featured a very dark and edgy style and feel and was before they politically corrected the series with TMNT 2. I mean what kid at the time wouldnt wanna hang out in a massive arcade/foot clan dojo? Sure beats going to a horrible night club to see Vanilla Ice. But yeah, a prequel would just suck. In my mind it would either be a whole new film series like Episode One(err, ok...NOT like the Star Wars Episodes) or the real TMNT 2

I don't think he was involved at all in TMNT 2 or 3.

No he wasn't. There were some animosities between he and the studio, but I'm not sure what it was or why. Movie news wasn't as easily available as it is now.

They probably didn't like all the violence in TMNT 1, The first movie was an independant film, was it not?
