As of today, how do you feel about "Booyakasha"?
I've never liked it replacing the classic "Cowabunga". I know the Turtles did not invent that term either, but at least they're known for popularising it. "Booyakasha", on the other hand, was popularised by Ali G 20 something years ago. No one associates it with the Turtles.
I like Ali G and all, but let's keep things separate. Remember that season 2 episode form the FW series where Michelangelo gets told to say something different for once and as he's about to yell "yabba dabba doo", one of this brothers(forget which one) covers his mouth and tells him something along the lines of "it's just not you."? Now, IMAGINE if the FW series had given the Turtles the "yabba dabba doo!" catchphrase from Scooby-Doo instead of "cowabunga!". Wouldn't that be silly? That's how I feel about "Booyakasha". |
