Pirates of Darkwater

Always loved this one, such a shame it never got a proper ending.

So who else is a fan?

I only caught this show as a kid a few times in the 90s but hated it and I avoided it. I finally checked it out in my teens because animation forums recommended it over and over. I was pleasantly surprised by how great it was. The shows concept seems to be like that of a Xena/Herc rip off show from the 90s, it would've been neat to have a live action show like that.

When I watched pirates of dark water it was when I was watching through Avatar the last Airbender and I couldn't help but notice how similar the two worlds were, including having hybrid animals. Tulas plant bending power seemed to me to be water bending the plants water from the inside. So yeah in my head canon they are the same universe. Sadly this shows chances of ever getting a reboot are basically zero, it had no toy sales or multimedia success, the show didn't have great ratings and no passionate fandom, it seems forgotten.

It was great back in the day! I wish it got its ending, but we all know what happened.

Damn, that's a blast from the past. I don't think I ever seen a full episode, mostly remember the girl in it was hot. I seem to recall the ads of it whenever it was ''a new show coming soon' and that there was an SNES game.

I caught a few episodes when ABC used to air it. I had mixed feelings about the show as a kid and probably that was due to the station's oddball show schedule.

I would probably enjoy it more now that I'm older.

Oh yeah, it would be awesome to get a settings book with more details about places.

I wonder who owns the property now?

There is actually a decently-sized guide to running a TTRPG in the show's world, I forget what it's called but it shouldn't be too hard to google. I used to have it saved along with all my other D&D resources
