I think it was cancelled after being considered too violent.

Tame by modern standards but yeah it was violent for the time...loved it.

Needs a blu ray release.

I used to love watching this show. Too bad it was so short lived. I guess it hit that 65-ep-run mark, hence why it didn’t get more eps.

Yeah, this is one of those properties I probably would have really been into, had it stuck around. Always had a good impression on me as a kid.

Wasn't one of the two main characters voiced by Barry Gordon (1987 Donatello/Bebop)?

Razor(Barry Gordon)

Did this show get a kickstater a couple years ago? I think they were going to make a new series or more episodes, what happened to that?

Not sure if it is cancelled but the creators wanted to do a new version called Swat Kats Revolution.

I'm not sure it made much of an impression on people.
I remember the fact that I barely ever saw the show. It was like a rare treat, especially given that it was in the - say it with me - pre-internet days.

I'm a broken record about this, but it still blows my mind to think that I saw an episode of TMNT's "Red Sky" season back in the day, and just had no clue what I had watched for like a decade after. The new art style, the intro featuring segments from the movie, and the fact that it was a "Cyber Turtles" episode, roughly based on an Archie TMNT comic I had...it all had my head spinning for the longest time. Even as a hardcore fan of TMNT, without the internet, I had no way of knowing what awesome thing I had just stumbled upon.

Same thing happened with shows like Swat Kats all the time, I guess.

The show had good ratings, it was cancelled because it was considered too violent for kids. Though there is a rumor that it was really cancelled by Ted Turner because it was doing better then his precious Captain Planet.

Idk why but I like Captain Planet. It’s the corniest thing ever but I like it. Maybe it’s the metallic-looking skin. Dying to see how that Leonardo Dicraprio-produced movie turns out. Can’t imagine it actually happening.

Captain Planet would get savaged if it came out today. It was everything the grifters hate about woke culture even back then.

Awesome show, though the first three seasons are the best.

First 3 seasons??? How many seasons did it have?

I admit Captain Planet was pretty much woke before woke became a thing. Like if it was more subtle with it's message maybe one could argue against the preachiness, but it was as subtle as a mack truck. Like they tried too hard to make 'picking up litter' or 'recycling' KEWL!!!!! Like only an after school drug special was preachier, and those are just single episodes, not full seasons lol

Like even as a kid I was thinking it was dumb that the bad guys wanted to pollute for the sake of polluting. Like they weren't doing something else that just so happened to pollute but were too stubborn to listen, they just wanted to **** up their own planet just because.

At least with Shredder and Krang, the times they wanted to wreck the planet made sense cause they'd be safe in Dimension X. With Toxic Crusaders the bad guys were aliens that needed Earth to be all smogged up for them to live there. But these ****ers were messing up their home just for evil sake lol.

Six overall. Three by Dic entertainment, the other three by Hannah-Barbera.

Interesting. Were there differences in tone or character designs?
