Most of the insurrectionists were believers of this nonsense. Not only did they have Trump telling them to "fight like dogs" which they took as him telling them to do it and they had these Q drops telling them that he definitely wanted them to storm the capital. They felt safe to do it because they believed that once Trump seized control they'd all be pardoned.

It was you drew the comparison between the January 6th insurrectionists and the various BLM protests. You made the distinction between the insurrectionists who actually entered the Capital building vs the ones who were left outside. By that logic I we should also draw a distinction between a BLMer that was just protesting and the few that turned to looting.

It's a pretty poor comparison to make anyway. I'm sure when protests on issues like marching against the police killing black people are being organised there is probably a sad realisation it could get out of hand and become violent but no one organising it plans for it to happen. The events of January 6th were 100% planned even by people in Trump regime. The plan was to break into the Capital building and force Mike Pence to certify Trump instead of Biden. Creating autonomous zones is also part of the protests? Supporting riots and claiming they are "mostly peaceful", when some of them were explicitly not is not comparable to so called "insurrection", when bunch of idiots went into the Capitol, made selfies and were kicked out?

If anything, so called "Insurrection" made much less damage, than "peaceful protests" and somehow killed less Blacks in the process (if you believe that all participants were Racists or Nazis or whatever boogieman your ideology pushes on top today).

However his lawyer said there had been no communication from law enforcement and the former president's post was based on media reports.
