Limited Run Games fired someone over having the wrong opinion

So apparently Limited Run Games locked their account over getting absolutely blasted by their consumer-base over firing an employee just because they follow people on Twitter like Blair White, Libs of Tik Tok and some others. This was mostly cause some activist did the ol 'lemme search up ancient tweets, likes and follows' and posted a collage of them and insisted LRG do something about it.

Limited Run Games has been under fire before due to their incredibly late releases and whatnot (it took over a year for some people to get their copies of the Scott Pilgrim game) and now going woke isn't going to help matters for them.

Lame reason or not, if the employee was working in an at-will state, they can be fired for any reason. Obviously, they can also suffer bad PR from it.

I honestly think going political for either side under public accounts and your real name is about the stupidest thing a person can do on social media. Stick to pet photos.

That's firing over discrimination though.

And yeah, people should just create private accounts if they feel they absolutely must voice their views.

As far as I can tell this person didn't even post their views, they just followed people and liked their tweets. Who the hell has the time looking for random followers of someone you don't like and trying to ruin their lives?

Like let's say Danny DeVito was an asshole. Who has the time to comb through each and every one of his followers and try to get them fired over liking a tweet of his from a decade ago?

Companies have to learn to shrug their shoulders and say '...so?' whenever these crazies try to bother them with this nonsense. Either that or just lie to shut them up. Put out some woke PC statement about you firing the person and about how good of a company you are and how you're on the right side of history and support Ukraine and all that stuff...... and then tell the woman to get back to work.

Apparently they locked their twitter feed, which on one side is them hiding from the backlash, but on the other side, blocking out whatever customers they still have that want to talk about or ask about their upcoming games.

And to top it off, one person complained. ONE person. And that was all it took to get her fired. I would somewhat understand if LRG was bashed into oblivion with the kind of hate campaigns Rowling gets, but literally just ONE person complained, possibly not even a customer or maybe not even a gamer, and LRG fired someone over this complete nobody.

Now the person being trans is irrelevant but the fact that people found tweets saying this person thinks adults should be able to **** teens if the teens want it is messed up. So this person is a creep too. That's not helping the trans community look any better. The irony is one of the people the LRG employees got fired for following was Blair White, a transperson that is strongly against messing with kids.

I really like the idea of a company specializing in putting games new and old into physical copies. Wish they were satisfied to just focus on that.

Exactly. Their gimmick is to make physical copies of digital only games. They should stick to that. Stop playing the woke game.

They now started buying a bunch of Harry Potter books and I guess, altering the covers to remove Rowling's name off them and then re-sell them to fans?

Despite the fact that Rowling is now swimming in the (additional) money that she's making off people buying her HP books in bulk just to do this?
