Likewise... they found a bag of powdered sugar we had on a pantry shelf in the basement. Unsure if the noisy one(s) in the attic can access the basement, but there's at least one hopped up on sugar.

Was going to wait, but got myself up to the attic last night to set the two plastic traps I got last year (and worked well), because the amount of noise was going to drive me nuts trying to go to sleep! Half expected to find a monster instead. Stayed quiet after, guess it figured out that its antics attracted attention...

Worst move a mouse probably ever made a few years ago was show me that they love milk chocolate. Have used it as bait ever since.

What's grinding my gears is slow shipping service an eBay seller I bought a Genesis and SNES Retron game controllers from. It was sent out from California last Wednesday through FedEx, and I just checked the tracking and it's still in California after 7 days. I mean, you mean to tell me that FedEx can't get those 2 game controllers out of the state they came from in 7 days?! I just wish the seller had sent it from the USPS, because it would of been cheaper and faster.

I just received my brand new Dexter's Lab complete dvd set and only 2 of the 12 discs work. The other ones don't even load. I even tried them on my PS 2. I don't know if it's a manufacturing error or if they are bootlegs. Hopefully the seller gives me a refund or sends me out another one without any problems.

What are you referring to here? What are they restricting? Anything that's not illegal isn't blocked.

Don't you just hate it when you go out grocery shopping and you forget something and not know it until you get home? Today, I went out grocery shopping (about 45 minutes in the store) and I forgot to get eggs, of all things. But I didn't forget the raw cookie dough and eggnog, again of all things.

Yeah, I try to take a scrap of paper with the stuff I need from a store, but even then that doesn't guarantee I'll look at it, because I think I remember it all, and sometimes still forget something.




Attic rodents still. So far nothing in my mouse traps that had worked quick and well last year. Due to some noise, and now the fact that a trap was tripped with no catch, I'd started suspecting it's bigger than a mouse, which would be a first after all these years. (A neighbor in recent years did have a rat, strongly suspected to have come by way of cruddy people she shared adjacent yards with and across the road from us.)

Grabbed some rat-sized traps and a couple sticky traps. The sticky ones I'm not crazy about having to use, and PETA would prob want to burn me alive, but whatever this is, it needs to gfto and nip this in the bud, pronto.

By the sound of it, something clearly already found a sticky trap and there is no way is that just a mouse. I feel bad, nothing I could do for it now so will wait it out, but yeah... sorry critter, but you came in uninvited and you're clearly being destructive, given loud chewing I heard last night.


If anything, if it IS a rat, maybe its presence helped deter mice from moving in this year...

What is grinding my gears is how slow the mail is. I sent out 5 Christmas cards 8 days ago (4 of which have 14 - 20 miles to travel) and they still haven't been delivered to my family and boyfriend. Seriously, what is the postal service doing that they can't get Christmas cards delivered to the next county in a week? Same thing with things I'm expecting in the mail, such as my trust fund debit card and a check from my father's IRA fund of $593, which I kind of need right now to pay off my December VISA card bill.

Even though my debit card doesn't expire until after January 2025, for some reason I can't use it because I keep getting an error message saying that my card it expired. I can't even withdraw money from an ATM machine. Went to the bank and even though they say it is listed as active I still can't use it. They actually have no clue. I can only withdraw money if I go to the bank. (Also for some reason I am able to still have direct withdrawal for my bills that I have that set up for reason...) But I can't use it to as payment at the register, a kiosk, or even to get gas, so I am stuck paying cash for the rest of the month until my new debit card comes in.

Also as I was typing this post I just got a message from work that I'm getting laid off come February 2025 FML

F*** Twitter/X. One of my accounts I guess was hacked into on the 4th. Found an email about a login from another state immediately followed by another email about my email address being changed.

I filled out info about a compromised account that I can't get into and I even sent these morons screen shots of both emails that came to MY email that is/was linked with the account, proof that as the owner I recieved those messages. My user name on that account is even IDENTICAL as the name in that email address, as it's one I've had since probably my teens and still sometimes use.

And this is how they respond.

If I can't get it back I'd rather the a-holes had security enough in place to realize it was freaking hacked and shut it down. I'm mostly mad at some hacker or bot having use of an ID I've had for decades.

Got into my other account, but even it apparently had someone try to get into it on the 13th and had to reset the password on that one. At least someone failed and didn't change my email that time.

Was looking at current posts online and saw a lot of similar issues. Wtf are they even doing? Great security they've got.


Edit: Can't even try again via my phone, the login screen on the mobile browser version is stuck in a screen refresh loop. Brilliant.

If you need an image of the email, then press the Print Scrn key on your keyboard (near the F12 key), it'll take an image of what is currently on your monitor screen, then go to whatever image editor program (paint) you have and make a file out of it, then send it. I learned this via Webs.com when I was having site problems that needed to be shown.

The account has two nonsense posts from the hacker/hacker bot that are not even in English. You'd think sudden changes like that would be super obvious to the site that accounts have been hacked?? Such "smart" people controlling it and probably filling it with AI, but can't create simple security that picks up on that?

I had it send a reset password request as many times as it would allow (inevitably to the hacker's email they changed it to) and spammed "hacked, ignore further posts" comments on my posts (going back several years) via my other (failed to also be hacked) account, just to aggravate them right back.

What's fun is that one of that one of them was "replying to [that account] and @FCC." lol Naturally, I apologized for them being tagged, but included further info on X doing nothing and not protecting real users.
