Which is still a dumb lesson. R-rated Deadpool -- which is not a Marvel Studios movie -- did more money than ANY X-Men movie before it. The lesson should be, do a good R-rated comic book movie, people will show up.

Which is why they are releasing a PG-13 version of Deadpool 2 in December.

I'm seeing a lot of oddities about that. It almost seems like Ryan Reynolds is the one pushing it out. Like, a lot of new footage will be in it and it will serve as kind of a commentary about PG-13ing movies that shouldn't be PG-13.

The new footage is scenes with Fred Savage. And it looks like its poking fun at the Princess Bride. The movie he was in also.

That's the thing, though; Deadpool only worked by being exactly what it was, which is exactly what it was supposed to be.

"NOW let's show that we can force it into the MCU cookie cutter and make even MORE money! I mean, staying true to the material is nice and all... but what's REALLY important is that we get little kids and teens to see a movie about a character that's not at all for them, so we can then sell them more action figures and those chintzy Wal-Mart Halloween costumes!"

PG-13 Deadpool. Jesus. Of all the "conceived in sin" ideas there ever were...

McFarlane seems to think it's still happening, let's wait until next year to hear McFarlane tell us this time it's very close to begin production

Todd Mcfarlane announces Mcfarlane films with a tv division including Sam & Twitch, a live-action TV series and of course a Spawn Cinematic Universe. Release date "Very Soon". At least there should be more spawn fan films
