Looking at the new sprites, backgrounds, and animations, it looks to me like how I always imagined Sonic the Hedgehog 4 SHOULD have been, not the fun but "meh" Episodes 1 & 2 that we got years ago. Sonic Mania looks like a genuine Sonic games running on Sega 32X hardware. Much as I appreciated Knuckles Chaotix, it was divisive and the zone acts were largely forgettable.

Spring 2017 can't get here soon enough! I expect I should be able to snag this one on Steam.

Yeah, at the end of the trailer we're seeing PC, XBoner, and PS4. No Wii U though...

Ever since the big Humble Bundle sale last month, Steam has become my Sonic play option of choice!

I still love my Wii U, so it would be nice to have options. Odds are that it will be much cheaper through PC than anywhere else.

ps3 would be nice, yeah, but I think we're out of luck going forward now. Most releases I've been seeing are ps4 only. A shame because it's not like the ps3 couldn't run this.

He remastered Sonic CD, 1, and 2.

This was a bit of a disappointment, I mean it looks awesome but really? All that hype for what is essentially Sega's version of MegaMan 9? It's a cool announcement but I really thought we'd see the real next Sonic game, confirming that Classic Sonic was now the defacto Sonic in the new 3D games. I'm sure this game will be good but I expected more after all of this.

The 2D sprites look outdated and ugly imo.... I much prefer 3D modern graphics.

But it's nice to be able to play as Tails and Knuckles again.

No news for Sonic 3 & Knuckles for iOS... I guess it's doomed forever.

Yeah, I can agree with this. I feel like it's Sonic 4 all over again.

And it does look ugly. Not very sharp.

THat seems like it would be the best action, really. A 2D game for the people that want one and a 3D game for the people that want that instead.

I have Sonic games of both that I love and that I hate so I don't care, but all I wanted was a damn regular Sonic game that let me play as Tails or Knuckles instead. That's all I wanted and how long did it take them to finally do this

Now this is nicer than a modified rom, which I also think is awesome. Not too happy about seeing modern Sonic I really wanted Sega to re-focus but oh well I do like modern Sonic and classic will still be in the game.

I wonder if Sonic Colors could get a PC port counting they know it's highly praised that they felt the need to mention it in the trialer and not easily playable nowadays. I'd also like the rest of the Sonic games ported including 06 but who knows if it'll ever happen.

I was really fooled. I thought I was watching a movie trailer until the end.

Speaking of movies, I wonder why there aren't any sonic movies yet? There is a lot of potential. Very widely recognized franchise, interesting characters, perfect use of CGI and it can make alot of money at the box office.

I rarely if ever post in the video game boards but I saw the topic title.

I think Sonic Mania looks freaking awesome. I guess some are saying it's based on a fan game? I don't know I've never played those. Just seen random videos on YouTube. Project 2017 looks great too. Although I don't have a PS4 or Xbox One.

Finally have a good reason to get either one.
