You know, it was mentioned that the Turtles would make contact with Splinter. Maybe Leo's meditating and contacts him and tells him what's been going on and Splinter gives him that advice because Leo's worried about not healing since we know he's still dealing with that in the newest episode. But that's just my best guess.
