I don't know why they would shift the page siding instead of using a placeholder page somewhere to keep them set correctly. They would have to do it anyway to once you came upon a 2-page splash of some kind - unless that entire span of issues doesn't have a single 2-page splash across all of those books. It's probably not the end of the world, but at the end of the day it is another noticeable choice by IDW that gives me hesitation to buy along with their pathetic revisionist history through censorship in the Archie books. |

As far as missing covers, they’ve split up the stories in the anthology issues like the Specials and are only reprinting the cover in front of the “main” story, like Night of the Monsterex. Again, there are page breaks in front of the ones without covers to provide separation. Same with the Archie Special but that one may have other rights issues too. I assume this was done to not reprint the same cover several times for each Special. No other covers are missing. The “Metamorphosis” stories were in a TMNTA TPB and did not have an issue cover, however the TPB cover is printed on the inside cover which is neat. Overall it’s a pretty average collection in terms of quality. It is not restored or recolored. There are no extras beyond the comics. However, it is the most complete and properly ordered TMNTA collection we are likely to ever see, and I believe it’s the only time these comics have been printed in an oversize format. Of course the potential for volume 2 to remove the controversial stuff still exists but I’m optimistic it will be just as complete as volume 1 (assuming it even gets announced). |

I should also clarify there is an introduction by Ken Mitchroney which counts as an extra I suppose. And a pin-up by Mike Gaydos from Special #10 prior to the story, but those should all be included anyways.

Yeah, that part. No way I'm paying a down payment now on what will most likely be a majorly truncated and censored collection.

But still not buying it on principle alone of IDW's censorship and ongoing woke $#!( mentality. If future volumes appear like they are meant for "normal people" and not blue-hairs or sensitivity-dictators, then I'll buy it. And this is difficult for me, because I've gone on literally for years about this series being collected this way. |
