Decent choices, but the reason I went with Charlie Murphy (if he was alive) is because Hob is more or less a serious version of the "Dangerous Psycho-Moron" type of character that Ed III is. Not sure if KMR and David can pull that one off as well.

Presumed is a key word here. In fiction, when a character dies in such a way that you can't find the body, they're typically not really dead. My guess is that he's just a cyborg somewhere. Though I have to admit, we won't see that in the show unless it's a cliffhanger or a movie shows it, same reason that I stated earlier.

We know Shredder, the Foot and possibly Karai will debut in Movie 2.

If there's a third movie, it'll probably be some form of Krang, Utroms, or Triceraton movie. So I don't expect to see Krang, the Kraang, or Utroms in the show either. So basically all they can do is debut some mutants or 2k3 characters like Bishop, Hun, Angel, etc.

I’m itching to know how they’ll handle Shredder and Kari in this version. I could see a few quirks changed to make a bit child friendly compared to the past versions. Maybe have Kari x Leo at the dance that’d be different.

All Wikipedia says is that it will be sometime this year, so that's sometime within the next nine months. Realistically though, probably august since that was when season one came out.

And this fills in till the movie right? I hope the sequel has the series animation I prefer it to the films.

It takes place between the two movies like the first season. Most likely Karai and any Foot characters are off-limits since Shredder is going to debut in the movie and they don't want any continuity contradictions between the show and what the movie does. Remember the movie writers are actually a different creative team than the writers doing the show.

Seeing how a 2 season series post-movie was part of the plan from the get-go, honestly I find it kinda dumb not to cast people they could keep for it. Or just fine a suitable recast for the series. Edit: I vaguely recall comments that a common Jackie Chan voice fill-in was in fact involved, but not used for Splinter?

Jackie Chan didn't even voice himself on his own animated series.

I REALLY doubt he would've come back to voice a mutant rat on an animated series.

If you mean Karai, then probably. I have a hard time not imagining her being reserved for the movies.
