Yeah I was thinking the other day about how #100 will be such a milestone. That issue should be epic and have lots of things unfolding and should almost be a TPB size. It should be more than a 8.00 one.
I guess it should be like 3 issues, and price it at like 11 or 12. Probably 11.99. We're a ways off, but what a great accomplishment that would be. So many fairweather casuals now days... first 4-6 issues do well and then sales slide downward until cancellation. TMNT has been strong. Great job guys! |

It's great to see that Universe is holding numbers only 1000 or so less than the ongoing. Seeing as it's basically an ongoing as well, the IDWverse turtles are pushing 30k a month!

14,000 is pretty low for the ongoing, usually hovers around 16,000-18,000 or so. TMNT Universe also has the pricey $5 tag, so it's a bit more expensive for casual buyers who aren't hardcore TMNT fans.

I was like "how does that not work out? BTW, I've always appreciated your timeline with continuity. I'm big on that and I use you and Dr. Spengler's stuff all the time. Thanks. |

The ongoing and Universe are far and away IDWs best selling ongoing titles. The only thing they have selling better is Batman/TMNT Adventures and Star Trek/GL. Both are 6 issue minis and crossovers with popular DC characters.

It's also pretty steady numbers for a series that's over 5 years in. It seems the majority of the people following it from the start are still around.

I wonder if this is the best-selling TMNT series overall? Would love to know how it compares to the various Mirage volumes (including Image) or Archie.

I doubt it's better than early Mirage, or Archie. Mirage likely started sagging in sales after Return to New York, but I have no numbers. Archie TMNT sold like hotcakes released in the height of Turtlemania.

Comic Book Sales have a natural roller coaster with sales just like its stories. The main ongoing series saw spikes in sale with Issues #44 ("Donatello's death") and #50 (Shredder's Death) So the lowest sale right now are bc the story is just at a low/dull point right now. Sales will have another swing here eventually.

I don't believe it ever has. I realize #66 was not to thrilling. #59/#60 and #66 where not as 'wow!' as every other issue. With Agent Bishop and Krang we need to tell our friends to buy into this masterpiece.

I'm pretty sure those sales don't count digital sales. So people who are buying them digitally from IDW, etc. aren't included in that.
On the plus side Batman/TMNT sold very well: Batman TMNT Adventures 27,921 Last edited by CyberCubed; 03-02-2017 at 01:58 PM. |

That's correct. They do not count digital figures.
