Fred Wolf and 4Kids are the only adaptations to use Chet

A somewhat trivial but kind of interesting observation I made. In case you don't know who he is, Chet is the little boy who dropped the Turtles down the drain. While I understand why 4Kids kept him, as it's also the only one to keep the truck incident, it's funny that the FW show kept him for everything else it changed.

Here's a rundown of all the other adaptations:
  1. In the 1990 movie never explains how the Turtles or the Ooze ended up in the sewers. I think the sequels does explain a traffic accident cause the canister to get lost but no mention of how the Turtles ended up in the sewer.
  2. The 2012 cartoon has Yoshi buy the Turtles himself and they're exposed when following the Kraang.
  3. The 2014 movie shows that they were exposed to the Mutagen in a lab and April intentionally puts them down a storm drain.
  4. In Rise, Draxum got them for an experiment.

Not that Chet is all that important, he essentially only ever existed to explain why turtles were crawling around in a sewer. About the only reason I could imagine him being important is if someone decided he should maintain contact with the Turtles after they mutated.

Which, interestingly enough, has kind of been done in the form of applying his role to other characters. IDW Fugitoid used the fake human identity of Chet, 2012 Splinter bought the Turtles himself and Bruce Wayne is very clearly merged with Chet in Krang's attempt to fuse the TMNT world with the DC Universe. And I guess the 2014 April too I guess.

And Archie Comics, as they adapted the early Fred Wolf episodes.

Yeah but I intentionally ignored other comics, reboot or side-story might be better ways to classify them.

I always thought it wouldve been cool if Zach's older brother, Walt, was revealed to be Chet from the first episode of the Original Cartoon. They both look near identical.

Shredder could've done more than blow up the Channel Six building. I don't mean as far as murdering Splinter, but think of the possibilities if censors were not an issue.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

Weird that there isn't a story of the turtles meeting Chet.

Wasn't there a backup strip with adult Chet checking out the sewers where he lost the turtles and and then seeing Leo's shadow?

Edit: yes,they actually meet him.
