The point I was realizing is that lately, these big blockbuster CBMs are becoming more and more divisive. As opposed to, say, 2008-2012, when everybody loved everything. Comparatively speaking.

Now that we have a glut of CBMs, we can pick and choose--and thus we become pickier and choosier. Also because there's a glut, standards raise and competition becomes more fierce.

Why go watch Thor 2 when I can watch Suicide Squad instead? Or why would you go watch Man of Steel 2 when you can watch Black Panther instead?

Soon, very soon, there will be a consolidation. Probably after Marvel Phase 3 completes and the first one or two Justice League movies hit the big screen.

Studios will focus on making fewer better movies that have a better success rate... it can't keep going like this. Marvel, at least, has definitely improved their game of late. WB/DC needs to find its footing pretty soon. And Fox... sigh.

We, DC is 0/3 at this point, they either need to seriously rethink their approach, or just drop it all together.

Nolan's Bat movies have their faults, but lack of voice and direction isn't one of them.
