That was partly my fault, partly the stores. I got them a few sizes bigger than mine, so they kind of fit, just a little too tight. I can't wear them like that, so I'm just gonna have to return them. A shame, since I really liked their designs. At least I still have that last one. |

Got a pretty good deal at a local thrift store. Bought this old TMNT lunchbox for $2. I like it. The art is weird and reminds me of that hilariously-bad Russian TMNT book series. Shredder's really discolored and Donatello looks like he poked his eye out with his Bo.
I also found this bag of random TMNT stuff. Anybody recognize anything inside it? Anything worth buying? Sorry for the bad pics. |

Some of it's fast food kid toy stuff & roleplay arm/knee pads, not sure about everything.

Definitely awesome finds! I love the lunchbox and I was even checking them out on eBay the other day. The same image was placed on either red or blue plastic lunchboxes. |

That first picture sure does bring back a lot of memories DestronMirage22. I'm glad you were able to find them and for such a cheap price! I still have these and still look at them every once in a while.

Also you guys remember those Classic Collection reissues of the those TMNT Mini Figures? Seems like even those are getting new variants. I came across some at a local dollar store today and picked up some sets. While I absolutely HATE that I'm giving Playmates my hard-earned money, I've always loved these little figures and I wanted to finally get some more. In the pics I compare the new ones to my 2k3 Mikey and Splinter. Mold-wise the turtles are the same as always, just with light color schemes that seem to imitate FW, or at least the promo art they use. I believe Casey is a completely new figure that they hadn't used the mold until the other reissue, right? Cause I don't remember it being available in the original or 2k3 toyline. And as far as I can tell, he's unchanged from the other release. Splinter is mostly the same figure, they just remolded some of his limbs and tail. Paint is pretty different from my original, but I'm not sure if it's the exact same from the last reissue. Also, the addition of accessories are different than my originals, but those aren't new, since the other reissues got 'em too. Overall cool little figures that look good on my shelf together. |

Cool find, thanks for sharing.
Have you ever found Don or Raph packs in the wild? My Dollar General seems to only ever stock Leo/Mike. |

So I was looking through another local dollar store and lookie at what I happened upon:
That's right! The remaining mini figure variants I had yet to find. Naturally, I decided to pick 'em up, as it would drive me crazy knowing I had passed on the opportunity to complete the set. They're good. I had the original Shredder when it came out back in 2003/2004 but it broke on me long ago. Needless to say, I'm glad to have it again; it's a very nice sculpt for its size, very much like the regular sized one. The Foot's very nice too, the only problem with him is that his hands aren't very open and it's pretty hard trying to get his weapons in. Not much to say about Raph and Don, they're the same sculpt as always. Although Raph's sai fit kinda loose in his hands and tend to fall out and Don's limited articulation really hinders the poses you can get with his bo. They look great together with the other sets, the only one missing is April, which they haven't reissued for some reason. Guess I'll have to track one down in order to have 'em all. As always it hurts giving a trash toy company like Playmates my hard earned money, but I'm a sucker for these little things so I digress. |

Does Playmates even approve these? They look so bootleg.

I'd assume so, considering they have the company logo on the packaging along with some legal information.
But that didn't stop them from being as cheap as possible. Some pretty bad paint apps (Don) and weapons that weren't thought out very good (almost everyone's) certainly make them feel like bootlegs. And come to think of it, I've never seen these advertised. At all. Weird. |
