Is 4Kid's Michelangelo the worst iteration of the character?

Well they were owned because the writers had to show that these were the source Turtles...it wouldn't make much sense if the 2k3 kicked their shells when they're not the source Turtles.

I actually liked that take on Casey being a complete idiot. They made up for it by making him capable of taking on the Shredder Elite, so there's that.

I'm talking about the versions I've seen, and that is just the movies and cartoons.

how the hell does that help? More often than not he was getting owned by anyone that had the slightest bit of training.

I think he got lucky because the elite probably underestimated him, just like mirage Shredder did at that time. Still an awesome scene though.

Yes, all of their personalities are over exaggerated to the point of annoyance. Though Mikey does seem to get stupified in the toons. A little goofy is one thing, but sometimes he's made to look like an idiot.

That's probably true. Truth be told, I don't like that part, either. They should have at least waited until the Turtles weren't getting their asses kicked, but then, Casey's greatest strength is his wild unpredictability.

Back to Casey being a simpleton, though, I think it might have helped to take some of the pressure on Michelangelo to be the only silly goofball hanging around.

I've been watching through the series and I just got finished with Worlds Collide part 3. So far in season 3, he's been very annoying with the Battle Nexus champ stuff, but he's been quite useful. He actually killed a couple of Triceratons.

It really sucks that they got away from how he was in season 1 though. He actually really funny, doing impressions, making fun of Splinter, etc.

Watch the Christmas episode, Mike is pretty awesome in that one. He's down to earth, isn't making ridiculous jokes and is an awesome fighter.

I guess cause none of the other Turtles were with him.

I found him as annoying in S1 as he was in the whole series, they did go over the top in FF and BTTS but he was still almost as annoying in the earlier seasons. However the character still had plenty of redeeming episodes, and I loved the battle nexus stuff with Mikey, very funny. Now Raph barely had any redeeming episodes and his tough guy persona was way more annoying than Mikey.

This version of Mike doesn't annoy me as much as he seems to annoy other people. Maybe because I think all the guys have very different personalities. Mikey comes off as childlike, yet at times you can see the ninja shinning through. For being teenagers I think he acts the most like one.

Hey, or anybody remembers, on the first 2003 Turtles videogame, how everytime you pull off that mid-air kicking move, he would go "Eat Feet!", and you could do that for the longest time, while you're stomping them down. Thought it was the awesomest; however it annoyed my brother. Apparently, it annoyed enough of the players, and the production team, that there was no "eat feet" on the following games; just silent air-kicking

I think 4Kids Michelangelo would have been a better character had they just played him as an antihero more often and comic relief less often. I always saw him as the turtle who as most fallably human, but the flipside of that making him obnoxious and naive is that it makes him care about humanity and its values. It would be better if more of the episodes centered around him dealt with his enthusiastic works of heroism in human affairs the other turtles are disconnected from (ie, The Christmas Aliens, The Turtle Titan), instead of so many where he has to suffer for his stupidity/laziness/egotism, and learns his lesson, but never permanently.
