Guys, I haven't seen second and third seasons yet, so I have two questions. Is this Oroku Saki holding Karai where Leo tries to kill her? I saw that picture here.

Forgot to say: yeah, that's Bishop, and that's Leo trying to kill Bishop without killing Karai. This is important.

I FINALLY figured out a way to get the cable plugged into my computer, so these are captured straight off the cable, rather than from my VCR recording. The quality is tons better! I'm so excited!
...Except that I had the frame compression too high, so details were getting muddled.. so I took shots from the VCR also and superimposed them on the shots from the cable and blended them, which was pretty time-consuming. I'll try to fix that next time, so I won't have to do that again.

I hate it when expressions don't match up. Mike and Raph had these surprised but pleased smiles on their faces in the far-off shot, but now they're looking at Don like he's crazy. Make up your mind! :p

I liked Usagi's side-long glance in this frame.

Now, honestly. All I could think of was a twist on the Star Wars quote: "Aren't you a little short for palace guards?"

I'd already finished most of this pic when I saw Chimera's. But the color's a little different and all that, so I thought I'd put it up anyway.

Technical gripe: these poor animators just can't seem to figure out whose blades are curved and whose are straight when Usagi's around... :p

Apologies, I edited this one. I liked the frame, but Mike was in the middle of an 'oo' phoneme, looked kinda silly, so I fiddled with it.


Again, for Mystic. I've got quite a few others from the four different takes of this scene, but I don't have them all touched up with filters and everything yet (besides, they'll look better if and when I get digital copies of the other eps).

Hey look! His katana's right! (but Leo's ninja-to were wrong in that scene, and curved also, as I showed you in one of my previous posts. *sigh*)


At least the way Leo's holding his swords makes them look straight while Usagi's is curved, for once.


Not only should his blades be curved, but the handguards (tsuba, I think they're called?) should be oval, not square... either they need some prop model sheets, or they need to actually look at them..


Leo is overwhelmed by monsters... and his sword grows a new part around the handguard. *grumbles* They seem to always draw swords consistantly until they throw Usagi into the mix, then it all gets weird.

Heh, yeah. Or just confused, being on a tight schedule, and having to keep track of all these characters and all these swords, and you don't have time to look at the model sheets, and you draw them wrong but you're already getting rushed on to the next ep so you don't care...! o.o

I have a 'short' contemplation of the character design for the Superturtles (I know you just love hearing those ), but I think I'll save it for when I'm posting shots from the actual episode. Consider yourself warned.

Methania and the rest of the crowd. Yes, that is the four-armed guy from the bar in the "Turtles in Space" arc, and the cricket/fish guy in front of him on the end was one of the prisoners in the Triceraton facility, who was kinda showing the guys around. Probably the others are re-used models too, but I don't remember them offhand. The repair guy next to Methania is an established character from the Planet Racers comics, I think, but I haven't researched him.
