YES!!!! I am over the moon with this news.

The way it reads I am hoping they have the full comic license because i greedily want a full Usagi line. It is what I have wanted for DECADES.

I am betting Neca has the cartoon/comic rights and S7 has the playmates homage rights.

Now who has the rights to the new usagi shows, which is what tied up the rights to begin with, remains to be seen. I just HOPE it is NOT Playmates.

Is the Usagi figure depicted above an amalgamation of toon and comic book elements?
This IS very interesting. I feel the Fred Wolf cartoon was the most faithful iteration of the character outside the comic, so an amalgamation of the two sources should totally work.

Perhaps that's all the more reason to hope for other Usagi characters. I've been hoping for an Usagi line, but I'm only interested in characters from the comics, not the upcoming Netflix show.
I'll be getting this regardless.

I'm really hoping Usagi gets an "Ultimate" release rather than a two-pack, as I am going to need three of these.

Any other info like when this could potentially drop?
Probably 2022 huh?
Pretty crazy Neca even have a working prototype ready.
They must've been onto this for awhile.

I reckon he's a pretty high demand character. Having both Turtles fans and Usagi fans.

He constantly comes up in wishlists. I'm surprised he's not been seen sooner (though the new toon might've impacted on the schedule of development). He makes more sense to me than a pizza monster or Groundchuck and the other guy.

I don't think Stan Sakai would have slowed down the process. I'm sure he would have been keen.

Didn't they already have one ready to go before the license got all tangled up in the new show? I might be misremembering but I swear NECA said they were really far along pretty early in the line.

Either way, this is great news and I'm very excited. Hopefully this does mean Super7 can get the rights as well. I wonder if this release will share the toon aesthetic from the TMNT line (black lines and two-tone shading). I hope so, as I need this on my shelf with everyone else!

In an interview Brian said they already have the rights. I'm under the impression the sculpt is done too, but production is delayed on account of the new toon.

I'll buy anything Usagi, so I'd love both an animated TMNT version, and a full-on Stan Sakai comic version.

Yup the new show sort of put a wrench into the works as far as rights. Now that is sorted out Neca and S7 can do their thing.

Sign me up! I'll take two.
Glad to hear he'll be an Ultimate in VHS packaging rather than part of a two-pack.

Oh man, but what if they also got the license to Panda Khan and did that as a two pack! I know he was really only in the Mirage Comic and the toyline, but I always liked the way Panda Khan and Usagi looked together.

That would be an excellent pack in. Or they can have a Usagi and Gen 2 pack (I don't think Gen appeared in the FW show but then again, neither has Panda Khan)...I have a feeling Usagi will be a standalone.

Usagi will be one of the few figures that I will purchase twice (boxed and open).

I'm mixed on the Ultimates. They've been mostly great so far but price creep has hit them more than the 2-packs. I'd rather my extra dollars go towards an additional figure than a bunch of accessories I won't use.

I get that not everyone wants every figure that comes in the 2-packs though.

Me too. I plan to buy 3 and didn’t want to be saddled with an extra figure I didn’t care for.

Anyone know when we might expect him in the UK? Those who are collecting most of this line, have you spotted any release patterns from US releases to UK?
