Should the Turtles (except Donatello) carry two weapons?

Every since the beginning, the Turtles (except Donatello) usually carry two main weapons, often in full swing at the same time. Do you think this should be a standard, or would you feel insulted as a TMNT fan if we get a new comic or cartoon, where this is toned down and each Turtle usually sticks to one signature weapon?

Leo should probably only have one sword, unless they actually give him daisho.

Raph needs two sai. I imagine him with at least one tonfa strapped to his leg as well.

I feel like nunchucks are way more effective when you only have one. He could also carry a separate kusari-fundo. Makes more sense than the hidden extension in the 2012 show.

Donnie should carry some kind of small blade, a tanto or something. His bo should also have the spring loaded naginata blade. I always liked that.

They're supposed to be flexible fighters, so yes.

Leo has a bow, and he may have tanto or wakizashi as his backup weapon.

Raph use tekko-kagi and sai. He can also combine a sai and stick into a trident. He might have better throwing ability due to his brute strength.

Donnie can learn escrima. His bo-staff can split in half and used as eskrima sticks, just like Robin. He also has his own hand crossbows or other gadgets as a means of ranged attack.

Mikey can use a sword. He can learn swordsmanship from Leo and eventually get his own katana, or give him a chinese sword so he'll look a hero from wuxia movie.

They should all be cross-trained in all weapons. Though carrying with them should just be as many shuriken as they can stuff away and their main weapon(s).

Yes they should because there are times when the Turtles used 2 weapons at the same time. For example, in Secret Of The Ooze, during the toy store battle, Leo threw his sword blades at the ceiling and swung back and forth to kick the criminals midair. That's just one example.

They should have as many weapons as possible, within reason. Whatever they can carry without being weighed down or made into an easy target. The dudes are trained in a multitude of styles/weaponry so it makes sense they'd need back-ups or whatever. Plus, the toys always pair them with extras, may as well start strapping some of them to their backs at this rate.

Two for each is fine, and some shuriken, smoke bombs and some small knives to cut rope or climbing gear.

If anything, even though they are masters of their own weapons, they should have good experience of each others' weapons should the other be incapacitated for example. Michelangelo used a katana to free the others from the Swatter's fly paper, for example. Not that katanas/swords are that hard to learn.

Should they? Yes, why not? Obviously two bo would be a bit much with the size, and the other three don't always have to use both at the same time.

But let's be real though, Donnie is the techy inventor guy, he has an arsenal of 2nd weapons/gadgets to use as weapons among his creations, including their vehicles that are often decked out with options of firing something at an enemy. He's got the most of any of them. He could have a smaller regular backup weapon on him if he loses his bo, but the guy could just as likely already have some kind of tech thing with him as well to make up for it.

edit: Though it would be cool to see Leo have a pair of katana and Wak or Tanto. (The word for that escapes me and too lazy with the heat to bother looking.) Mikey could have a regular nunchuck paired with one like he had in 2012. Technically, you could say that Raph's primary weapons are really his fists, the sai are both just an enhancement.
