Italian police confiscate pirated video games
Italian police has carried out a succesful raid against pirated Atari VCS, Super NES and Sega Mega Drive–Genesis video games and consoles from the late 1970's, the 1980's and early to mid 1990's, confiscating approximately 47 000 000 cartridges and 12 000 consoles from China.
Among the confiscated titles were Mario Bros., Star Wars and Street Fighter. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1k7387pmrpo Last edited by Original TMNT Cartoon Fan; 09-18-2024 at 12:10 PM. |

I am glad to see this happen. I collect gameboy/gb color, gba, n64, ps1 and 2, ds/3ds, wii/gamecube, and switch games. I usually have to open up any catridge based game to make sure that it is authentic. I have accidently bought bootlegs a couple of times and it is infuriating. It is getting harder and harder to tell what is real and what is fake. I would love to see more mass bootleggers get busted.

This is good. As a guy who just recently bought back most of my old games, I'm glad someone got busted. I'm starting to think that my Bad Dudes VS Dragon Ninja for the NES is a second bootleg in a row I got from eBay, because they both failed to load up, but all my other games are normal.
I did get Super Street Fighter II SNES today in the mail I ordered from eBay. I'm just waiting for a friend to call me soon and then I'll test it out. |
