Is this the only semi-active TMNT forum left?

This place obviously is nowhere as active as it used to be, but people still come here. Are there any other TMNT forums left? As I mentioned in my previous threads, other than the TMNT reddit I can't think of any other online forums for TMNT that are active.

There's still places like twitter, tumblr, deviantart where people post fanart or screencaps or whatever, but it's not a forum for TMNT fans. This is why I have to stalk reddit.

It wil be active forever because the tv series and comics will never stop. When one series(tv or comics) ends the next starts soonero r later. As my adventures never end the forum will be active forever!

I know Michele Ivey hosted a TMNT forum a couple of years ago called TMNT-L, but it seems to be gone by now. Then, there is Stealthy Stories II (based on the original Stealthy Stories community) but it is mostly fanfiction-based and not very active these days.

In my life I've never seen another forum about Turtles. Not that I ever bother searching for one. People here keep telling it's not very active lately but this place is enough for me, it gives me my daily little dose of Turtles related stuff and I'm good.

I kinda feel even without the fact the social media pretty much killed message boards, even back in the message board heyday, this was THE TMNT forum just like He-Man.org is THE He-Man/She-Ra forum.

There really was nothing else unless you counted TMNT fan-groups on Yahoo or something.

Yeah, even by 2004 most of the other ones had already died off due to a combination of lack of interest and the owners not paying to keep them online anymore. I actually matriculated here after originally joining another TMNT forum which shut down very shortly after I got there. Pretty much all of their members jumped over to this one, and pretty soon this was the only place left.

I never understood why the TMNT fandom wasn't bigger even in the early 2000's. By then all of us original fans who were kids in the 80's/90's had grown up, and you'd think there would be more of an online presence at the time.

Most of them had the Internet at the time, but not everyone had boadband during the first half of the decade.

you didn't need broadband to post on forums, 2k3 just was never that popular. The people who grew up with the OT, didn't care for it for being adults now or were in their teens so they didn't watch cartoons. Kids just didn't care enough to join a forum. The nostalgia for TMNT didn't really become mainstream until early 2010s.

No, but without broadband, you couldn't hang out on the Internet too often.

Over the last year I've been reading more on He-Man.org to re-familiarize myself with a franchise I was really into around 5yo but never really delved into later on the same way I did turtles, which was a much bigger part of my childhood.

I'm actually rather surprised to see how that forum has way more posts, threads and members than this one, when TMNT is seen as a bigger franchise. What do you suppose it is that has kept the activity here so low compared to there. I only compare the two because of the similarities between the two franchises (Similar point of origin in time, lots of crossover with people who are fans of both, etc.)

It's no secret that there's a lot more the Drome could be doing to draw in more activity here. Upgrading to newer forum software that's prettier and with more features really can breathe new life into a forum community, I've seen the impact on other forums. But as it is, I agree that we are lucky to even have a dedicated forum at all, when the trend is for them to close down.

It was largely uncool to like TMNT in the late '90s/early '00s. At that point it had been a fad that we liked as kids which had one ill-fated attempted revival and a niche comic series. It wasn't yet the multi-generational spanning powerhouse it is today.

How can the 2003 TMNT cartoon be considered a failure when it lasted for seven seasons? Actually. it ended just a few months before the October 2009 Nickelodeon purchase of TMNT.

Lies, I used to spend all my afternoons on my trusty 56k modem in the 90s. My dad was a computer engineer so I had the internet since I was a little kid, I remember at 8 looking up information for nintendo.
By the late 90s I was a member of a bunch of communities whether IRC chats or message boards. I didn't get broadband until summer 2001 I think, and for the most part you would see a bunch of sites that had 56k modem warnings lmao. But pretty much everyone I knew and had broadband by 2003.

The point is there were plenty of communities before broadband on EZboards and other forums whether Pokemon or even niche stuff like Dragon Quest. By 2003-2004 I'd say that was the golden age of forums and at the point when forums were most popular, it only declined after that. Everything had a community if TMNT couldn't have a community is because there weren't enough fans for a fandom, not because the technology wasn't there.

Even before I joined the technodrome, it wasn't a very active forum back then in 2004/2005.

Yeah I visited IGN since 1997 and Ninjaturtles.com in 1997. IGN boards have been around since 2000 and gamefaqs back in 1998. People were online at the time.

I think that's in reference to The Next Mutation and the Image (Volume 3) comics.

The comic sections is still very active because while rise of tmtned ended 1 year ago the comics are still releasing each month. I am sure the forum will become much more active when the next series starts in a few months.
