"THE SHREDDER" graphic novel
First was the fan-made Image finisher, then was "Odyssey," then was "Origin," and now it's this. A new graphic novel illustrated by Jim Lawson with digital duotones in B&W. It'll likely be my last foray into TMNT fan-made material beyond helping out what Arseniy is cooking up with "Forever War" and what may come with that.
It's Mirage-based, of course. More info to come, but it is set to be a 60% sequel, 40% prequel to the story of Oroku Saki. His childhood, his rising up the ranks of the Foot Clan in Japan and adopting the moniker of "The Shredder." And in the present (which would be shortly after the events of "Origin," in the post-Vol. 4 landscape), Oroku Saki returning to life for one final, fateful "Round 3," as it were. The campaign is now live: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/t...der/x/210319#/

If it not for april's fool, that's terrific news!
But why would it be your last shot at fan-writing the turtles? I remember you said a Volume 4 ending could be an option if Peter Laird states he does not wish to do more issues. Not sure I can be of any help... As for your previous projects, you can count on my financial support when time comes though! |

I'm guessing this is a April Fools' joke. If not, sounds cool.

Well that was awkwardly timed by me. But no, not an April Fool's joke.

Couple of things. One, this is awesome, and I'll totally support it when the time comes. Two, I don't think I can be much help before then. Though since the question was posed, my first thought for a logo was a cover where Shredder is standing straight up, heavily shadowed with his arms in an x across his chest, with "The Shredder" being in the same font as the later issues of TMNT Vol. 4, but in a maroon color. Not that I can actually draw that. The best of luck to you!

Only thing I can think of that I can contribute in some way is perhaps some small art related thing. Perhaps something like a pin-up I guess? I threw together a quick Shredder sketch so you have something relevant to look at and also an example of a recent, not quite finished Raphael piece under the spoiler.

Oroku Saki's back story is one of the bigger oversights of the Mirage canon. Looking forward to this!

I know I'm getting ahead of myself here but do people, and Andrew more importantly prefer something more like inked line art or something more paint like. Like what I'm doing here? Maybe you prefer line art if it's going to be in black and white. Still just playing around here.

That would be awesome! I'd be interested in submitting something for your consideration.

Another is to take the Mirage title (i.e. "Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant ninja Turtles") and cut out the letters (in title font) to make up "Shredder" from it, so that *in* the letters that make up "Shredder" we see the source title. Or vice-versa. I'm probably not explaining very well. |

I can give the logo thing a shot if no one else is on it.
Also I can contribute with art if need be. Here are some samples with Shredder:

After some fandangling that's honestly gone on for a couple of years... A.C. Farley will, in fact, do the cover.
