You know, I just realized...do the turtles know any other "actual" teenagers besides Princess Trib?

Might explain Mike's quickness to a crush on her...

I think a few back-up stories at the end of a TMNT universe of the five of them just hanging out might be fun. Or maybe Trib might volunteer to go to Earth to learn about the planet so she can get a better idea of the social climate...so they don't jump to assumptions based on the turtles again.

(And really, I think Trib could be something of Krang's opposite, considering how much they have initially have in common, but having opposite reactions to various circumstances.)

Nope. Granted April/Casey were college students at the beginning of this series, I'm not sure how much time has passed in universe, but they're only a few years older than the Turtles.

Oh jeez, I just realized that Trib On Earth would basically just have a lot of similarities to Star Vs the Forces of Evil - which wouldn't be too much of a bad thing, especially with how much the third season isn't playing games anymore - but mostly in the ""I'm a princess from another dimension!" learns about life on Earth and comes into her own through her experiences there" area.

Alopex actually describes herself as 'preteen' in Raphael's first micro, though like the Turtles that appears to be more of a maturity thing than literal. I assume 'in human years' she's slightly younger than the Turtles, I'm sort of guessing Mondo Gecko is the same.

That actually makes a little bit of sense. I did think about Alopex and Mondo Gecko, but at this point, I've started to think of Alopex in more of Angel's age group.

Though, by this time, she probably is...which is why she's started hanging out with Angel more.

You know, I had some thoughts regarding Ch'rell's entrance into the fray.

The first being Ma'riell's concerns about learning of Krang's imprisonment - and thus the curiosity of how he'd react to his death.
Here's the thing...Ch'rell would have been around for Krang's willingness to die for the sake of their people. No matter how much he adored Krang, no matter how fervant his loyalty, he was probably expected to bite down and move on if something were to happen. So maybe he'll have a second of grace before he's told that he died like a dog [in Florida]. And that's where the tantrum will start.

The other thing is the idea of Ch'rell taking up the Shredder mantle.
He also would have been around for the "incident" with Saki attacking Krang at the portal and ending whatever plans they were forming for Japan. Maybe "so around" that he was on the other side of the portal to see him get blasted through with suit on fire. He knows Krang hates Saki's guts, so I don't think he'd be too eager to make a suit out of his body unless he were to kill Saki himself. Which of course isn't possible. It just wouldn't be respectful to him.

While would make for an interesting TMNT reboot, where it makes sense for Shredder to work for Krang because he's a disturbingly loyal Utrom, that's not happening in IDW even slightly

And I'm going to list it in "the two big mysteries"

Used to be far bigger in number, but have dimished due to inner skirmishes
Dragon Lord leads them all
Is "unkillable"
But for whatever reason, is not on the mortal plane - reasoning unknown

How do you get a soul into a new body from the spiritual plane?

How do specific souls get attached to specific bodies?
In the case of Hob, exposed to the same Ooze as the turtles and Splinter, why didn't he pick up any "Hamato family elements" in his reincarnation

Well, first off I'm not sure what you mean by Ooze being necessary for successful reincarnation. Saki did in fact have sub-concious memories of being Tatsuo. He needed help to be fully aware of them, but it didn't make him any less of a reincarnation.

Hamato Yoshi prayed for Buddha. I assume Buddha or some other deity does it. But who knows, maybe the dead just get tired of being dead,
I think they used Honeycutt's mentawave helmet, right?
Splinter got the serum and Saki got a serum as well. I think it's always subconcious, you just need a trigger to make the person aware of their old life.
Divine intervention. Or if we are to assume it's a scientific manipulation, just program different subject.
No, even if none of it this turns out to be mystical, he didn't get the trigger serum.

That's a good point.

Though Tatsuo did drink a whole lot of Ooze for corporeal regeneration, so I think that might have been involved somehow.

I think the best way to bring this theory to full circle is that, perhaps, Saki's mother was in on Kitsune's plot in some way or another and drank the Ooze while she was pregnant to ensure the reincarnation. But...you know how it is with mother characters in this series. Though...that would mean the Hamatos would have needed prior exposure...which they most certainly didn't...unless we want to count their biological essence being contained within the Ooze during the time they were dead.

I think the biggest question regarding Ooze is why it can do all of this. We've never really seen how the Utroms used it, except for stasis. But that was their final development with it. It seems like they weren't using it for the same reasons humans were; otherwise, we probably wouldn't be seeing them with prosthetic limbs and eyes. There's just a vague reference to how it was necessary for their "life and machinery", but it' never been shown how they actually used it under "normal" circumstances. Save for Krang bathing in some once, but I'm not sure if that was the original intent.

What is your definition of "A few years older"

Turtle bodies wise the turtles aren't old. Only about 4-5 years had to have passed since they mutated from turtles that weren't that old to begin with.

Soul wie, Leonardo was probably the closest one to be teenager while Mikey was still a child.
