They can be around, sure, but I just want a resolution to their current story. I honestly just can barely bring myself to care about them anymore. I don't want the series to spend another 50 issues hyping up their master plan and giving us bits and pieces of it. Judging by the Shredder in Hell storyline, though, I get the feeling that, at the very least, the Dragon King plot will be resolved.

The way I see it, when the Pantheon is done, the book will be done. They're kind of THE story of IDW TMNT. You can't just "resolve" their current storyline, because they only have one storyline. That's my read, anyways.

That's sort of how I feel about it as well. Kitsune in particular has been at the heart of everything right from the start and even before the start.

I feel like Bishop is in it for the long haul too. In this series it also doesn't seem like he'll turn good like the 4kids version, since he seems way too evil here and killed Slash which the Turtles find irredeemable, so he'll probably be in it for the entire run. Bit of a shame, what made the 4kids Bishop so great was the shades of gray he had but in reality he really wanted what was best for humanity and was able to work with the Turtles and change his ways. IDW Bishop has just done too many terrible things to see him ever forgiven by the Turtles.

I would like him to transfer his consciousness. After a battle to save himself from death he will transfer into his synthetic body. It needs to happen. I am over Slash, but this Bishop reveal can be course corrected.

Is it possible there is no long range plan after #100 as #1-50 was carefully laid out and #51-#100 were? There are plot threads to play put more like The Panetheon and Chrell and maybe Null, no overall narrative direction. I liked having that through the story, the tight continuity and character work just like the 2003 series did for five seasons. Don't want Fast Forward and Back to the Sewers coming up.

Come on, guys, let's not overreact. It's not like the OG crew are leaving forever and won't have any further involvement with the comic.

I think Bobby even said that they had been in the process of working on things a few months ago, so by now, there's definitely something down.

I am super excited to have you taking the reins for a bit, Sophie. I love your art and characterization of the Turtles.

There seems to be a Foot Assassin on Karai's side with a yellow mask in upcoming issues, and the same characters involved in taking him down are present when Jennika first dons her bandana, as seen in preview panels. Those two facts could be related.

It's releasing on Wednesday, at least. Don't know why there hasn't been a preview thread yet, though.

If we do see Tokka/Rahzar I can see them just being one-shot characters for a mini or special, and them just living in the wilderness after having escaped Null labs or something.

Reread issue one last night. It had twelve characters:
Splinter Hob Leo Donny Mikey Raph April Casey Lindsey Chet/fugitoid Stockman Hun Really cool to see them all in City at War and see how much they have all grown. |

Pretty much the only major character from the first 50 issues that isn't around anymore is Slash. And then Shredder and Krang.
IDW has mostly kept the same cast the whole series. We still have Old Hob, Baxter and Hun. We still have Karai, Koya and Bludgeon. We still have Bebop/Rocksteady. We still have Fugitoid/Neutrinos. We still have Angel, Alopex, and Llija, We still have the same Mutanimals. We still have Kitsune, Rat King and the rest of the Pantheon. It's kinda surprising when you think about it. The two main villains Shredder/Krang were killed off and the only other character who died was Slash. Everyone else is still around, with the only big new additions after issue 50 being Bishop pretty much. Everyone else was either short-lived or continued from old stuff they had been building up like the Utroms/Triceratons. |
