Irma or April
I know the Irma and too a much lesser extent were just side characters and the show was pretty shollaw to begin with, but which character comparatively had the most intersting characteristics? This might be unfair since April is more important than Irma but they were both potratyed as kind of shallow (as were all the character to some degree in the old series) one was career obsessed and one was boy crazy yet unlucky in love.

I hate to be obvious but April, bc truthfully Irma was jst everyone's punching bag. She was the typical girl, always having trouble with guys. April hung out with Mutant turtles! lol so this one is obvious to me.

Irma had a lot of potential....bet you anything that beneath the glasses and tied back hair she was probably a bombshell to look at.

Since Irma outside the OT only appeared related to the OT itself (the first couple Archie issues and the Toon Irma figure), outside of her secretary/man hunting storyline, she only assisted the turtles if they really needed her help.
Even when just focusing on the OT, April still has lots of depth, hands-down. It even reflects upon the real world: being a reporter/correspondent/anchor is a lot more adventurous and tasking than being just a secretary. Plus, April also can assist the turtles via her turtlecom when there's trouble, something Irma rarely did over the course of the series. April even "saved" the turtles more often than Irma if you watch close enough! The only thing Irma's got going for helself over April are perhaps her cooking skills!

"She's only good at cooking"
How mysongistic of you. Do you listen to yourself when you talk utter bollocks? I take it you never watched "Donatello's Degree", which, aside from being a cute Donny/Irma episode for 'shippers, also shows off some competancy and brains and helps save the day. |

April was only ever concerned with the next big story. Arguably, Irma was only concerned with men, but at least she wasn't a narcissist.

For me it`s definitely April. She`s always been my role model. But Irma`s cool as well. Actually, she reminds me a bit of my friend.

I personally feel that it's unfair to say since Irma wasn't around as much as April was. I liked Irma, though, and her quirks, but as far as character development goes, April would win this hands down. She went from always trying to get the story (which would get her into trouble), to chilling and hanging back and not being so active when it came to getting a news story or helping the Turtles out. The Red Sky eps showed that she'd matured in that sense. Unfortunately, by that time all of the Channel 6 gang was phased out.

I don't remember the later series too well, but I do remember Irma being quirkier and having a bit more personality that April.

Although comparatively I think maybe Irma had more common sense than April did. Also I love 80's April, she is my favorite April, but if I were to be objective, an average looking everyday girl with a job that is nothing more than a paycheck to her that worries about being attractive to guys but has a sense of humor about is more sympathatic than a beautiful super modle with a perfect body and perfect career that coukld have any guy she wants but doesn't want them because she is too wrapped up in her career.

Well some of the boys in my class were playing TMNT and one of the girls wanted to play but the boys said "No, we already have an April." At which point I said she could play Irma and they were all like, "Oh yeah Irma!" Heh, and they said girls never watched the show.
