Bill Anderson, one half of the Rick McCollum/Bill Anderson creative team that did "Twilight of the Ring" and "Juliet's Revenge" will be doing the back cover.

If you're wondering about Rick... he is ill and recovering. It was definitely my intention to get him involved as well but it's not possible.

It made it! Awesome!

I was out all weekend helping a friend with a book signing, but I went ahead and threw an add up for the campaign on the Ninjaink FB page to maybe get some extra dollars in for the last 24 hours.

The book's gonna be good!

Question for you guys. Andres Ponce has drummed up 3 concepts for the cover. Which one do you guys like best?

Personally, I really like the energy of #1. But I'm open to going with whatever is the consensus.

I wanted to revisit this one last time. One question: when the Jhanna issue was reprinted at IDW (the Color Classics line, I'm assuming), was she blue-skinned or not blue-skinned? Does anyone know? I guess that would technically determine the "latest canon" of the matter, arguably.

Should Jhanna be blue-skinned as she appeared in the 4Kids cartoon or retain her human skin tones from the original Michael Dooney painted cover from TMNT Vol. 1, #13? Maybe just a blue tinge to her skintone as a compromise?

Cover #1 all the way. It's so dynamic. The other two are great, but they're more typical, if that makes sense. The only reason I would stray from #1 would be if its intensity is greater than the contents of the book itself.

Nobody should consider IDW's colors for Mirage canon. Period. They made Shredder blue, among other sins. Discredited. I stand by my opinion of going the Dooney route for Jhanna's skin color.

I agree with Powder on this.
Whatever IDW did in their Classics Vol 1 colorization (whatever it was) and the color they chose for her in 2k3 shouldn't have any effect on this Mirage-based story.
IMO the best way to go about her color is based off that Dooney cover.

I vote for concept #1 for the same reasons stated above.

I also share the feelings of my fellow dromers regarding the color skin.

I agree that the layout for #1 seems to have the most energy on account of Donatello and the close ups of all the other character faces, but I'd like to see more of what he has in mind for #3 because of how amazing the close up of Leatherhead might be when fleshed out. And the fuller body profiles of Donatello, April, and Jhanna seem to have a dignified, heroic look.

#2 looks way better. It looks like it's set up as a movie poster. I'm not crazy about the tight torso shot and head shots with #1.

I like #3 best. I like how Leatherhead's body and tail frame the whole thing. I also like the relative size of the space craft in #2 and #3. For a vehicle, it takes up a lot of real estate in #1, though I do agree that #1 has the most natural energy. Without knowing the story, it's tough to know what mood it's striking. Maybe high energy is good, maybe it's not.

No, she had white skin (as in she looked like a white person, not as in chalk white like Lobo).

I don't think IDW pays too much attention to the coloring of the Mirage stories, so it could in theory change if it ever becomes part of the Works collection. Pattison colors Splinter brown and Renet's clothing blue while Scorpion Studios has grey Splinter and red Renet, so it's not that consistant.

All right, please keep weighing in on the cover.

About Jhanna and the blue skin vs. white skin, I reached out to Dooney himself. This is what he said:

"I never saw the cartoon, so if she was ever blue, that wasn't my idea."

Good enough for me.

When I first saw #1, I thought how can you top that cover and then I saw #2 and I immediately fell in love with that cover, so #2 for me.
