Wow, if that's close then I'm gonna wild guess. Victor Gorelick or Fred Wolf?

That was the thing that always mystified me about the turn the franchise took when Eastman and Laird licensed the cartoon and the parallel comic book published by the same outfit that gave us Archie. The turtles' original origin story? The whole thing hinges on a for-Christ's-sake rape-murder!!!!
from here.

The answer to who killed The Mighty Mutimals was the very one who came up with them as a team, Ryan Brown! He killed them off to make them have a lasting effect on TMNT Adventures, giving it a darker tone, and create a more of an appeal for the characters since they were to be dead.

So do I get a TMNT no-prize?

I remember reading that off of TMNT wiki about two months back. I know its a wiki so reliability is sketchy, but this is my source, from where I absorbed the info about two months ago: http://tmnt.wikia.com/wiki/The_Mighty_Mutanimals

Apply the template of Null to each one to discover the secret and become initiated into the cabal.

Frankly, it's just better to stop the "Who is Null?" talk because it'll just taint the way you look at the character.

- Armaggon was trapped in Dimensional limbo.

- Shredder loses his mind at the end of Year of the Turtle.

Null is the only villain who is on the loose.
Toxeem could have made a comeback, but he wasn't too memorable.

Also I remember Future Don mentioning something about the present Turtles returning from their "1st war with the Animus" leading me to believe that there would be at least a 2nd battle with the Animus

I cant think of anything else, not that these villains were real threats to the Turtles

Toxeem and that Yellow alien from the future just blasted off into space. They're not important.

Really, man, that's how you felt after learning it? I found it a rather profound insight to how the atmosphere at Mirage began to shift and the chosen form to portray it.

Then again, I adore Murph as a writer.

Can someone give me a little history on future war? Besides the obvious of it never being completed and it being years and years in the making?

That's all it was. It was the next arc in Archie before the series was canceled.

Around 2009 Mirage greenlit the Forever War to be made but Murphy didn't have the motivation to get into it. Hence little to nothing of it actually went in production.

All we know was Shredder was in it and the Future TMNT.

I thought it was called 'The Forever War' because it doesn't have an end.

The plot was that Shredder uses the dimensional portal to pull TMNT foes from all over their timeline to gang up on them. I'm also pretty sure they get separated and split into groups. Kinda like Reality Check. It's pretty evident in the covers that were released awhile back. Many dead or absent characters made appearances too.

The covers give a little insight.
Spoiler:

This is probably the roughest part of the whole deal, that after such a wait the project was finally promised, complete with a TPB lead-in book, only to vanish again.
