Honestly even though it was being done by a company with a questionable track record I do think it's a shame it's fallen through. I would argue a lot of the popularity of Miles Morales is less about the spider-verse movies (which are good) and more him being featured in a popular video game and being spun off into his own game. I did hope a well done Last Ronin game might likewise help popularise TMNT content with a more serious tone. I still hope it gets picked up by another company. God of War inspired seemed a bit ambitious though. Something with the look and feel of Batman: Arkham City would suit The Last Ronin perfectly in a game format.

It's crazy that we're approaching almost a full year since the news of the layoffs at Black Forest Games. I have a feeling Paramount is still itching to get SOMETHING game related out of this franchise, but this game is going to be stuck in developmental hell for years to come, I'm sure

Shame this isn’t happening. Perfect story for constant stealth in an open world. Reason to switch between katana/sai/bo/nunchaku. Potential to expand upon/correct the god-awful kid gloves story the comic ended up telling.
Don’t know that it would be worth anything, but they also would have the opportunity to do a swerve and reveal that the Ronin is actually one of the other guys. I think Mikey makes the most sense, but they would have the freedom to try new things if they wanted to. |
