Seriously, it sh*ts on all the others. Their thin crust is the closest to the real deal there is. So says I, a pizza addict from New York.

I would suggest X-Factor, if it's still going, as it was one of my favorite X-titles when I was still reading regularly. Not sure what else is still around after the big "reboot/retcon" business, but I'd probably also go with Captain Marvel depending on who's writing her. The "new" Ms. Marvel just doesn't hold a candle to Danvers.

Well, since she WAS an avenger for a very long time, and is one of the most well-known female heroes, she'd be a good one to start with. X-Factor is(was) a good title with a nice balance of "fun" and seriousness. Having Peter David doing the writing doesn't hurt, either!

At the moment the only Marvel book I'm reading with any regularity is Ms Marvel, though I did just pick up the first couple of issues of A-Force.
I was closely following Wolverine and the X-Men for a while there, and picking of trades of Exiles as they came out. I tried to get into Captain Marvel, but...it's not a book that ever grabbed me. Loved the not-so-recently cancelled She-Hulk and Hawkeye runs. I'm sad I fell behind Uncanny X-Force as far as I did, because I was enjoying the hell out of that book when it started.

That dude calling Cubed a dickhead was the best thing I've seen all day.

LOVE CHEW! I'm so far behind. I should really just forgo floppies and pick the title up digitally. Same goes for Unwritten.

Unwritten is this weird comic about stories and how they intersect with reality. I really dig it, but it's bizarre.
Also see Cowboy Ninja Viking, Casanova, and Day Tripper. Though, those were more contained, mini-series style books...rather than monthly.

Chew is excellent. I have to catch up. I only read the first volume.
Another one I'm digging, be it gruesome, is Nailbiter. I loooove it. Nailbiter, Saga, Wic Div, TMNT, Ms. Marvel, and Kanan get me to the comic stores. |

Is Kanan worth reading if you don't watch Rebels? I've been loving all of Marvel's Star Wars output, but that's one I haven't even looked into yet.

Damn, I had no idea he was writing it. So worth reading, just not worth getting attached to. I know the drill by now lol.
EDIT: After some research, I see that it's been a top 50 book almost its entire run. Truly a case of the Weisman curse. |

He's got another Marvel book out at the moment...Star Brand I think. It just started too, so maybe you can check that out and support it while you can.

Hope you all don't mind the mega bump. I just wanted to say I've really enjoyed this series so far. I'm a sucker for fourth wall breaking stuff, and Hastings seems to be striking the right balance with humor and genuinely thoughtful stuff. The art by Gurihiru is a huge part of the appeal too.

It's certainly lasted longer than I expected it too. Good on it.
